Job summary

Techlanz seeks an entry-level technician (0-2 years) to maintain, calibrate, and support lab hardware and testing environments. You will ensure equipment accuracy, document tests, and assist engineers in setting up complex fixtures for ongoing projects.

The role emphasizes safety, meticulous record-keeping, and hands-on electronics experience with PCBA, oscilloscopes, and DMMs. Training and growth opportunities are offered within a dynamic EV technology context.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree/Diploma in a relevant technical field is highly preferred.
  • 0-2 years of professional or internship experience as a Technician in PCBA domain.
  • Foundational knowledge of electronics, circuit diagrams, and digital/analog concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine calibration, maintenance, and functional checks of electronic test equipment (e.g., Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, Function Generators).
  • Execute and document standardized hardware validation and quality control tests on components and assemblies following SOPs.
  • Perform hands-on assembly, soldering, rework, and repair of PCBA and prototype.
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues, identify root causes at component level, escalate complex problems to senior engineers.
  • Manage laboratory inventory of parts, consumables, and tools, initiating procurement to maintain stock levels.
  • Maintain logs of equipment maintenance, test results, calibration records, and material usage in a LIMS or similar system.
  • Ensure strict adherence to lab safety protocols (electrical safety, ESD, hazardous waste disposal).
  • Configure and install diagnostic and OS software on test benches and lab computers.
  • Assist engineers in setup/teardown of experimental fixtures for ongoing projects.
  • Identify and propose minor procedural improvements to enhance workflow and data integrity.
  • Collaborate with engineering and research teams to support testing needs and provide status updates on equipment availability.

Job description

This is an entry-level technical role (0-2 years of experience) focused on the hands-on maintenance, calibration, and support of sophisticated hardware and laboratory testing environments. The successful candidate will perform essential functions critical to the R&D, Quality Control, or Engineering teams, ensuring all lab equipment operates at peak accuracy and efficiency. This position serves as the foundational stepping stone for a career in hardware testing, electronic systems, or technical laboratory management, requiring exceptional attention to detail, a strong commitment to safety protocols, and a proactive approach to troubleshooting.

Job Responsibilities
KEY DELIVERABLES OF THE ROLE
  • Conduct routine calibration, maintenance, and functional checks of electronic test equipment (e.g., Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, Function Generators).
  • Execute and document standardized hardware validation and quality control tests on components and assemblies following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform hands-on assembly, soldering, rework, and repair of Printed Circuit Boards Assembly (PCBA) and prototype.
  • Troubleshoot fundamental hardware issues, identifying the root cause of failures at the component level and escalating complex problems to senior engineers.
  • Manage the laboratory's inventory of parts, consumables, and tools, initiating procurement requests to maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Maintain detailed and organized logs of all equipment maintenance, test results, calibration records, and material usage in a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) or similar database.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all laboratory safety protocols (e.g., proper handling of chemicals, electrical safety, ESD procedures, and hazardous waste disposal).
  • Configure and install essential diagnostic and operating system software on test benches and lab computers.
  • Assist engineers in the setup and teardown of complex experimental test fixtures and environments for ongoing projects.
  • Identify and propose minor procedural improvements to enhance laboratory workflow efficiency and data integrity.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineering and research teams to support testing needs and communicate clear, timely status updates on equipment availability and test outcomes.
Qualifications, Experience, Skills
  • Education: Associate's Degree/Diploma in relevant technical field is highly preferred.
  • Experience: 0-2 years of professional or extensive internship experience as a Technician in PCBA domain
  • Technical Skills: Foundational knowledge of electronics, circuit diagrams, and digital/analog concepts.
  • Tool Proficiency: Proven ability to use standard lab equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Digital Multimeters (DMMs), logic analyzers, and DC power supplies.
  • Soldering: Basic to intermediate skills in soldering techniques for through-hole (THT) and surface-mount technology (SMT) components.
  • Software: Familiarity with data recording/analysis tools, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel for data logging/reporting), and experience navigating basic computer systems and networks.
  • Core Competencies: Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills for inventory and documentation, and a meticulous approach to maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
