Job summary

Universal Electronics, Inc. in Bengaluru seeks a hands-on Lab Technician to manage day-to-day Hardware/Electrical Lab operations, including hardware assembly, soldering/desoldering, PCB work, calibration, and inventory control.

You will collaborate with multiple engineering teams to ensure smooth lab operations, coordinate procurement and vendors, and maintain lab equipment, components and workspace to support ongoing product development.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Hands-on experience of 5+ years in Hardware/Electrical/Electronics Lab environment.
• Good soldering/desoldering techniques.
• Knowledge of SMT components, specifications, and PCB assembly processes.
• Experience with PCB board assembly and hardware handling.
• Experience in inventory management and tracking of electronic components/hardware.
• Familiarity with calibration activities and handling laboratory equipment.
• Experience with electronic component or hardware procurement.
• Good vendor coordination and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple engineering and cross-functional teams.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple lab-related activities.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain day-to-day Hardware/Electrical Lab operations.

• Support PCB board assembly, modification, repair, and basic troubleshooting.
• Work with and understand SMT components and specifications.

• Provide hardware-related support to multiple engineering teams and collaborate on their lab requirements.
• Coordinate the procurement of electronic components, hardware, tools, and lab-related materials.
• Work closely with vendors and suppliers regarding component availability and procurement requirements.
• Support the organization and maintenance of lab equipment, components, and workspaces.
• Help ensure hardware and lab resources are readily available to support engineering activities.
