Job summary

Apollo Tyres Ltd invites applications for a Lab Executive – Global Lab in Chennai (R&D). The role focuses on operating Textile Testing and HSLFT equipment, conducting material tests, and coordinating a small lab team to ensure accurate data and compliant workflows.

Candidate should have hands-on textile testing experience, familiarity with HSLFT, and a background in polymer/material testing. Relevant degrees and 0–5 years of experience are desirable for this position.

Qualifications

• 0-5 years of experience in tyre, rubber, polymer, or material testing laboratories.
• B.Tech/B.Tech in Polymer/Mechanical, MSc in Physics/Chemistry or related discipline.
• Hands-on textile testing and HSLFT operation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage Textile Testing and HSLFT (High Speed Linear Friction tester) machines as per established test procedures.
• Conduct routine material testing and support new material development projects.
• Ensure test data accuracy, equipment upkeep, and timely reporting.
• Supervise technicians/operators and coordinate daily laboratory activities.
• Manage test samples, consumables, and laboratory documentation.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and 5S standards.

Purpose of the Job

Responsible to support tyre material development activities through effective operation of Textile Testing and HSLFT equipment, execution of laboratory testing, team coordination, and maintenance of safe and efficient laboratory operations.

Major Responsibilities

• Operate and manage Textile Testing and HSLFT (High Speed Linear Friction tester) machines as per established test procedures.
