Responsibilities

  • Assist faculty members and students during practical classes, experiments, and psychological assessments by providing timely technical and administrative support.
  • Ensure the availability and proper functioning of laboratory equipment, instruments, test materials, and consumables required for practical sessions.
  • Maintain accurate stock registers for laboratory equipment, instruments, and consumable materials, and assist in periodic stock verification.
  • Organize, store, and maintain laboratory apparatus, equipment, and assessment materials in a safe and systematic manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and hygiene of the laboratory, including laboratory furniture, instruments, and equipment.
  • Assist in the preparation, compilation, and updating of semester-wise laboratory manuals and practical records as directed by the department.
  • Report any loss, damage, malfunction, or shortage of laboratory equipment or materials to the Head of the Department or concerned authority.
  • Maintain records related to damaged or lost laboratory materials and recovery of associated costs, wherever applicable.
  • Ensure discipline and appropriate conduct within the laboratory and report any instances of misconduct or violation of laboratory rules.
  • Ensure that laboratory safety protocols are followed during practical sessions.
  • At the close of each working day, ensure that all electrical equipment, computers, lights, fans, and other appliances are switched off, and that cupboards, windows, and laboratory doors are properly secured.
  • Maintain departmental files, laboratory records, registers, and other documentation as assigned.
  • Collect, organize, and maintain students' practical records, assignments, and assessment materials.
  • Assist the department in conducting practical examinations, demonstrations, workshops, and other academic activities as required.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of the Department or the institution from time to time in support of the department's academic and administrative functions.

Essential Qualification
  • Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc.) in Psychology from a recognized university.
Preferred candidate profile
  • Candidates with 1-3 years of experience in a psychology laboratory, educational institution, school, assessment centre, or related setting will be given preference.
  • Fresh graduates with relevant academic knowledge, good organizational skills, and an interest in laboratory management are also encouraged to apply.
