Job summary

Dr.Kamakshi Memorial Hospital in Chennai invites applications for a Laboratory Tutor/Demonstrator role. Responsibilities include conducting practical sessions, guiding students on instrument handling, and ensuring lab safety and compliance with norms.

You will assist in reagent preparation, equipment upkeep, and support academic projects and assessments. Prior teaching exposure and strong communication are preferred.

Qualifications

• B.Sc / M.Sc in the relevant discipline (e.g., Biochemistry, Microbiology, Anatomy, Physiology, Biotechnology, etc.).
• Prior experience as a Lab Tutor / Demonstrator / Assistant in an educational or clinical setup preferred.
• Good communication and technical skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and assist in laboratory practical sessions and demonstrations for students.
• Guide students in handling laboratory instruments and following standard operating procedures.
• Ensure laboratory safety, hygiene, and compliance with institutional and regulatory norms.
• Assist in the preparation of reagents, specimens, and experiment setups before practical sessions.
• Maintain inventory, calibration, and upkeep of laboratory equipment.
• Support faculty in academic projects, assessments, and internal practical exams.
• Maintain records of student attendance, experiment results, and lab utilization.
• Report any equipment malfunction or shortage to the Lab Incharge / HOD promptly.
• Help in organizing workshops, training sessions, and academic events related to laboratory learning.
