Job summary

Bajaj Auto Ltd in Kolkata is seeking an Area Manager for Recovery (L3) to lead repossession and settlement activities in the local market.

You will build a network of recovery agencies, conduct field operations, set targets, coordinate with legal and regional teams, and ensure compliance with company policies.

The role requires a graduation and at least 6 years of experience in vehicle finance recovery, with English, Hindi, and local language proficiency preferred, and willingness to travel daily.

Qualifications

• Graduation (B.Com, BBA or equivalent preferred).
• Minimum 6 years of work experience in recovery/collections.
• Experience in vehicle finance NBFCs or banks preferred.

Responsibilities

• Repossession and settlement of accounts.
• Biggest emphasis on repossession and settlements with agencies.
• Create network of repossession and settlement agencies to cover the portfolio.
• Conduct local events to drive repossession and settlement targets daily.
• Set DRR for the team and monitor performance.
• Intervene to improve team performance when needed.
• Design local compensation structures for agencies to improve collections.
• Execute field recovery actions including skip tracing and settlements.
• Coordinate with legal team to handle escalations and compliance.
• Maintain daily records and share reports with management.
• Prioritize penal charge collections to support costs.

Reporting Manager Title: Regional Manger Recovery

Language: English, Hindi, Local language (preferred)

Travel: 60-80 km/Day

Academic Qualification: Graduation (B. Com, BBA or equivalent preferred)

Work Experience: Minimum 6 years

Domain Knowledge (Preferable): Vehicle Finance (NBFCs or Banks). Recovery / NPA collection / Write of collections including repossession

Job Purpose:

To search for and recover 7+ accounts through repossession and settlement through specialized agencies who has capacity for repossession and finding suitable vendors to enroll for repossession and recovery. Conducting local activities in the market to improve repossession, recovery and settlement

Key Responsibilities

• Repossession and settlement
• Create network of repossession and settlement agencies to cover the portfolio
• Conduct local events on a frequent basis to handle the repossession and settlement target on a day-to-day basis
• Set DRR for team and track team performance
• Where team performance is low suitable intervention for improvement
• Design local compensation structure for agencies to improve collections
• Execute field recovery actions including skip tracing, settlements and closure of loan account.
• Handle situation when conflict with customer, police interventions happens with the support of the regional manager and legal team support
• Set daily and fortnightly recovery/ vehicle repossession targets for the collection agencies, monitor progress, and ensure timely follow-ups.
• Identify accounts that need legal action or repossession, get necessary approvals, and oversee the entire process including customer communication.
• Ensure all recovery work follows company policies and legal requirements, train the team on correct practices, and report any issues or complaints immediately.
• Keep accurate records of visits, calls, and recovery updates in the system, and share daily reports with the manager.
• Along with recovery prioritize penal charge collections to support collection cost.
• Spot relevant agencies from the market for enrolment and share with supervisors for empanelment.
