Job Overview:

As an L1 Support Engineer, you will be the first point of contact for technical issues. You will perform hands-on troubleshooting, physical equipment installation, basic network management, and environmental monitoring to ensure data center infrastructure runs smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Hardware & Cabling Management: Assist in the physical setup, racking, stacking, cabling, and labeling of servers, switches, and routers.
• System & Facility Monitoring: Track the health of hardware, power supplies (UPS/generators), and cooling units using monitoring tools.
• Incident Response: Perform basic diagnostics, document issues in the ticketing system, and lift complex network or hardware failures to L2/L3 teams.
• System Maintenance & Backups: Execute routine health checks, apply firmware patches, and monitor backup systems to prevent data loss.
• Security & Compliance: Enforce facility access protocols, maintain precise login records, and report security breaches or equipment tampering.
• User & Remote Support: Manage helpdesk tickets, assist remote workers with VPN connectivity, and handle account permissions or password resets.

Technical Expertise:

• Technical Knowledge: Foundational understanding of server hardware, operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS), and basic TCP/IP networking protocols.
• Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting abilities to isolate hardware and connectivity issues and implement quick fixes.
• Physical Capability: Ability to lift and safely maneuver heavy data center equipment.
• Soft Skills: Excellent real-time communication, strong documentation habits, and a customer-centric approach under pressure.
• Education & Eligibility: Technical degree (B.Tech / BCA / BE or equivalent)
• Preferred Assets: Active certifications in networking, cloud computing, or DevOps pipelines.
