Groupe Michelin in Pune, India seeks an R2R Cash & Bank Analyst to support the Accounting Manager and ensure accurate cash and bank accounting in line with group standards.

You will handle daily cash/bank postings, bank reconciliations, and contribute to timely month- and year-end closings, while ensuring compliance with local laws and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Account for cash and bank transactions; ensure accuracy, integrity and timely month- and year-end closings.
• Perform daily accounting of cash and bank activity; post journal entries as needed.
• Complete daily/weekly/monthly bank reconciliations and clear reconciling items.
• Ensure GL entries comply with Group/local norms and standard processes.
• Reconcile accounts and justify figures before reviewers, auditors and controllers.
• Close transactions and reporting in line with deadlines and quality standards.
• Understand basic accounting concepts, provisions, accruals, fixed assets accounting.

Job description

MISSION : The accountant assists the Accounting Manager or the Accounting Cycle Analyst with Group and local norms accounting activities. He/She handles layout, entry, verification, control, quality and consistency of accounting transactions and accounts within his/her remit. He/She ensures these activities comply with Group referentials and relevant country's legislation and such information is available within prescribed deadlines for preparation of financial statements.

KEY EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS

• The R2R Cash & Bank Analyst is responsible for ensuring accurate accounting & reconciliation of cash & bank transactions, maintaining financial integrity, and supporting timely month-end & year-end closing activities. The role requires collaboration with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
• Performing daily accounting of cash & bank transactions. Prepare and post journal entries related to cash and banking activities. Complete daily, weekly, & monthly bank reconciliations and resolve outstanding reconciling items.
• Compliance of GL entries and transactions with Group and local norms, function allocation rules and standard processes.
• Accounts reconciliation and justification before reviewers, internal and external auditors and internal controllers.
• Closing transactions, program and reporting operated in compliance with closing deadlines and quality level expected.
• Understanding of Basic Accounting concepts, provisioning and accruals, fixed assets accounting Etc.
