Job summary

Shahi is seeking a seasoned Knitted Fabric Development specialist to create new fabric qualities and constructions aligned with buyer requirements and design specs. You will leverage deep knowledge of fabric structures, yarn counts, GSM, stitch length and fibre composition to guide samples from development to bulk production, coordinating with knitting, dyeing, processing and finishing teams.

• Develop new knitted fabric qualities and constructions as per buyer requirements and design specifications.
• Possess strong knowledge of knitted fabric structures, yarn counts, GSM, stitch length, and fibre composition.
• Candidate must have good experience in Knitted Fabric Development

Responsibilities

• Develop new knitted fabric qualities and constructions as per buyer requirements and design specifications.
• Possess strong knowledge of knitted fabric structures, yarn counts, GSM, stitch length, and fibre composition.
• Coordinate with knitting, dyeing, processing, finishing, and quality teams to develop fabrics.
• Conduct fabric trials and ensure samples meet required quality standards and technical specifications.
• Analyse fabric defects, shrinkage, spirality, colour fastness, and other performance parameters.
• Evaluate fabric costing, yarn consumption, and process feasibility for cost-effective development.
• Coordinate with merchandising and technical teams for sample approvals and development timelines.
• Maintain fabric development records, technical specifications, and testing reports.
• Ensure smooth transfer of approved fabric qualities from development to bulk production.
• Guide the product development team and drive continuous improvement in fabric quality, innovation, and process efficiency.
