Job summary

KCIRI, Kumaraguru College of Technology's Research & Innovation Centre, invites applications for a Junior Research Fellow in Electrical / Electronics Engineering to work on a Defence Technology development project. The JRF will be responsible for developing and implementing electrical systems essential for defence applications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering / Electronics & Communication / Electronics & Instrumentation, with a valid GATE score preferred.
  • Industry/ Research experience in embedded systems, motor control or electronics design is advantageous.
  • Fresh graduates with strong academic records and domain knowledge may apply.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop a reliable motor controller.
  • Evaluate and integrate motors to ensure compatibility with the control system.
  • Develop interface controller for communication between mechanical and electronic subsystems.
  • Conduct testing and validation of subsystems under simulated conditions.
  • Prepare technical documentation and reports.

Job description

KCIRI, Kumaraguru College of Technology's Research & Innovation Centre, is seeking a dedicated Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in Electrical / Electronics Engineering to work on a Defence Technology development project. The JRF will be responsible for developing and implementing electrical systems essential for the defence applications.

Job Role

To design, develop, and integrate the electrical and electronics control architecture of the electrical system, ensuring precise & reliable motor control and seamless inter-subsystem communication.

Major Responsibilities
  • Design and develop reliable motor controller.
  • Evaluate and integrate suitable motor, ensuring compatibility with overall control system.
  • Develop interface controller for communication between mechanical and electronic subsystems.
  • Conduct testing and validation of the subsystems under simulated operational conditions.
  • Prepare technical documentation and reports.
Supporting Actions
  • Coordinate with mechanical and software team for seamless system development & integration.
  • Support procurement of electronic components and testing equipment.
  • Identify potential areas for system optimization and improvement.
Educational Qualification
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering / Electronics & Communication Engineering / Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent, preferably with a valid GATE score.
Experience
  • Industry/ Research experience with relevant experience in embedded systems, motor control or electronics design is preferred
  • Fresh graduates with good academic records and domain knowledge can apply
Skills Required
  • Knowledge of embedded systems, microcontrollers (Arduino, STM32, or equivalent), and real-time operating systems.
  • Experience with motor drives, PWM control, and power electronics.
  • Proficiency in circuit design tools (Proteus, Altium, or equivalent) and simulation software.
  • Good communication and technical documentation skills.
