Job summary

Genrobotic Innovations seeks a skilled Control Systems Engineer to develop and optimize BLDC motor control for advanced electromechanical and rehabilitation devices at Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram. You will implement, test, tune, and validate control algorithms, and collaborate with mechanical, electronics and R&D teams.

The role requires hands-on testing, system integration, and strong MATLAB/Simulink proficiency, with C/C++ coding and hardware interfacing.

  • Operate, test and tune BLDC motor control systems for electromechanical devices.

  • Collaborate with R&D and product teams to ensure safety and quality during testing and deployment.
  • Develop C/C++ code for control system implementation; perform MATLAB/Simulink/HIL/SIL/PIL simulations.

Job description

Genrobotics is seeking a skilled and experienced Control Systems Engineer with strong hands‑on expertise in BLDC motor control, operation, and management to support our R&D and product development initiatives. The candidate will play a key role in developing, implementing, testing, tuning, and optimizing motor control systems for advanced electromechanical and rehabilitation devices.

Responsibilities
  • Operating, managing, and testing BLDC motors for various applications, along with developing, implementing, and tuning motor control algorithms and drive systems.
  • It includes performing performance evaluation, validation, and troubleshooting of motor systems, and integrating BLDC motors with embedded systems, sensors, and control hardware.
  • Supporting system‑level testing, debugging, and optimization, as well as preparing technical documentation, test reports, and performance analyses.
  • Collaboration with mechanical, electronics, and R&D teams is essential for product development, while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards during testing and deployment.
  • Developing and maintaining C/C code for control system implementation, designing and implementing advanced control algorithms using MATLAB/Simulink and Simscape (including P, PI, PD, PID, MPC, SMC, fuzzy logic control, and digital filters), and conducting HIL, SIL, and PIL simulations to validate control system performance and identify potential issues.
  • Provide onsite support during product tuning, testing, and commissioning to ensure optimal system performance and timely issue resolution.
Skills Required
  • Experience working with BLDC motors, motor drivers, and control systems.
  • Knowledge of motor control techniques, embedded systems, and controller tuning.
  • Hands‑on experience in testing, troubleshooting, and system integration.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink, microcontrollers, or relevant control tools is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and documentation skills.
  • Good to have knowledge of model‑based design methodologies and simulation tools (HIL, SIL, PIL).
  • Proficiency in C/C programming.
  • Experience in working on robotic medical rehabilitation projects will be considered an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of motor control techniques such as PWM, PID control, and speed/torque control
  • Experience with motor drivers, encoders, sensors, and embedded control systems
  • Basic understanding of control system design and tuning
  • Familiarity with microcontrollers (Arduino, STM, PIC, etc.) and interfacing techniques
  • Ability to perform system integration and validation testing
  • Experience with microcontroller and microprocessor programming.
  • Knowledge of signal processing techniques.
  • Good to have experience with control systems in robotics industry.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's/master's degree in electrical, Electronics, Control Systems, Mechatronics, or related field
