Job summary

Inspiration Manpower Consultancy in Bengaluru is seeking experienced R&D/Product Development Engineers for a top MNC client. The role requires hands-on cable design, development and manufacturing exposure with 2–8 years of experience in the Cable/Wire & Cable sector.

Qualifications include B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Electrical & Electronics, Electronics or Mechanical. Immediate joiners with flexible notice periods are preferred and the candidate must be able to work on-site six days a week.

Qualifications

Job Overview

We are looking for experienced R&D / Product Development Engineers to join our growing R&D team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the Cable / Wire & Cable Manufacturing Industry, with strong exposure to new product development, cable design, material selection, product trials, validation, product improvement and cost optimization.

Important: Cable industry experience is mandatory. Candidates must have core Cable R&D / Product Development experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop new cable products based on customer requirements and technical specifications
• Support product development from concept/design stage through trials, validation and production release.
• Develop and optimize cable constructions based on electrical, mechanical, dimensional and application requirements.
• Select and evaluate conductors, insulation, sheath, shielding, armouring, fillers, tapes and other materials.
• Evaluate cable compounds and support material trials and performance assessment.
• Plan and coordinate new product trials with Production and Process teams.
• Monitor trial production, identify technical/process issues and recommend improvements.
• Coordinate with Testing and Quality teams for product validation and analyze test results.
• Understand and apply relevant IS / IEC / UL standards and customer-specific specifications, as applicable.
• Work on product improvement, material optimization, process improvement and cost reduction without compromising performance.
• Prepare and maintain product specifications, BOMs, technical datasheets, trial reports and other R&D documentation.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Testing, Purchase, Process, Sales/Technical teams and customers wherever required.

Required Experience & Technical Skills

• 2 - 8 years of relevant experience in Cable / Wire & Cable Manufacturing.
• Mandatory experience in Cable R&D / Product Development.
• Hands-on knowledge of cable design, construction and development.
• Good understanding of cable raw materials, insulation and sheathing compounds.
• Knowledge of cable manufacturing processes and practical shop-floor exposure.
• Understanding of relevant cable standards and customer specifications.
• Experience in product trials, testing coordination and product validation.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good technical documentation and communication skills.
