Job summary

Sonata Software is hiring a Junior .NET Full Stack Developer for Pune, with hybrid work arrangement. You will work on React.js front ends and .NET back ends, under guidance from senior engineers, writing clean, tested code and leveraging AI-assisted tools.

3–5 years of experience is ideal, and collaboration with QA and architecture teams is expected. You will gain exposure to modern tech stacks, improve engineering practices, and contribute to bug fixes and feature enhancements across business

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a hands-on Individual Contributor (IC) role for someone early in their career who is eager to learn a modern technology stack, develop strong engineering practices, and become comfortable using AI-assisted development tools as part of their daily delivery.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build and maintain features across React.js front ends and .NET 10 (C#) back ends , under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Write clean, tested, and well-documented code for well-scoped tickets and features.
• Use AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools as part of the day-to-day development workflow.
• Participate in code reviews by both giving and receiving feedback to develop strong engineering practices.
• Work with QA/SDET teams to fix defects and improve test coverage for developed features.
• Learn the portfolio's applications and contribute to bug fixes and small enhancements across business units.
• Maintain parity with legacy system behavior where required.
• Develop and maintain automated tests and perform regression testing against existing systems.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and architects to understand technical requirements and implementation approaches.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED SKILLS

• Up to 6 years of professional software development experience .
• Good understanding of React.js , including components, hooks, and basic state management.
• Good understanding of .NET / C# , with exposure to .NET 10 or willingness to learn and ramp up quickly.
• Good understanding of SQL Server and relational databases , including reading queries, understanding existing tables, and testing against development databases.
• Good understanding of REST APIs, relational databases , and full-stack web application architecture.
• Hands-on exposure to AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf , or similar tools, or strong willingness to adopt them.
• Good debugging and problem-solving skills with the ability to ask relevant questions when required.
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
• Ability to work effectively with and learn from senior engineers.
