Qualifications

• Industry certifications like CCNA/CompTIA Network+ are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, servers, and peripherals.
• Diagnose hardware issues, perform preventive maintenance, and manage inventory.
• Configure and troubleshoot LAN/WAN/WLAN; deploy routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
• Assist with ISP provisioning, ILL and P2P connections; ensure uptime and reliability.
• Serve as Level 1/2 IT support, onboarding users, setting up Active Directory and email.
• Monitor backups and assist with data recovery tests; ensure endpoint security compliance.

Role Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Hardware & Networking Engineer to support our daily IT operations. In this role, you will assist with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of our physical computing hardware and network infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career IT professional to gain hands-on experience in enterprise networking, server management, and end-user support.

Key Responsibilities

Hardware & Systems Management

• Install, configure, and maintain company desktops, laptops, servers, and peripheral equipment.
• Perform routine hardware diagnostics, component replacements, and preventative maintenance on devices and server hardware.
• Assist with the physical deployment of IT infrastructure for new hires, office expansions, or workstation relocations.
• Maintain an accurate, up-to-date inventory of all IT assets, hardware supplies, and software licenses.

Network Administration

• Assist in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and wireless networks (WLAN).
• Monitor basic network performance and connectivity, identifying bandwidth bottlenecks or hardware failures in real-time.
• Assist in the configuration and physical setup of networking equipment, including routers, manageable switches, firewalls, and access points.
• Handle physical network cabling tasks, including running cables, terminating endpoints, and managing server room patch panels.
• Coordinate with Internet Service Providers (ISPs) regarding internet leased lines (ILL) and point to-point (P2P) connection provisioning, uptime, and troubleshooting.

Helpdesk & Security Support

• Serve as the primary point of contact for Level 1 and Level 2 IT support tickets, ensuring the timely resolution of technical issues for internal staff.
• Assist with user onboarding, including Active Directory setup, email configuration, and access management.
• Monitor automated backup systems (e.g., NAS backups) and assist with routine data recovery tests.

• Ensure all endpoint devices are compliant with company security policies (e.g., updated antivirus software, active firewalls, and proper drive encryption like BitLocker).
• Document technical resolutions, network diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: 10+2, or technical diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
• Experience: 0–2 years of hands-on experience in IT support, hardware repair, or basic network administration.
• Core Technical Skills:
  • Solid understanding of core networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs).
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11) and standard office applications.
  • Basic familiarity with configuring enterprise networking hardware (e.g., Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper) and understanding of server/virtualization environments (Windows Server, Hyper‑V, or Linux).
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving abilities, clear communication skills for assisting non-technical staff, and a proactive attitude.
• Certifications: Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or Cisco CCNA (completed or in progress) are highly preferred.
