Job summary

Target Learning Ventures in Thane, Maharashtra is seeking a Junior Graphic Designer to join our Creative Team to work on educational books, children's activity books, and other learning materials. You will design book covers, layouts, worksheets, and visuals, using Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.

The role requires a solid grasp of typography, color theory and print-ready production, plus the ability to meet deadlines and collaborate with editors.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design and format educational books, children's books, workbooks, activity books, and learning materials.
• Create engaging book covers, page layouts, worksheets, activities, and visual elements.
• Work on typography, image placement, colour combinations, alignment, and page composition.
• Prepare artwork for printing according to publishing specifications.
• Incorporate feedback from editorial, content, QC, and production teams.
• Ensure consistency in fonts, colors, illustrations, and layouts across the project.
• Organize files and templates, maintain fonts and linked images.
• Meet deadlines while handling multiple projects.

Job description

Target Learning Ventures is looking for a creative and detail-oriented Junior Graphic Designer to join our Creative Team. The candidate will work on educational books, children's activity books, workbooks, covers, learning materials, and other visual communication projects.

The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of design fundamentals and be comfortable working with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and format educational books, children's books, workbooks, activity books, and learning materials.
• Create engaging and age-appropriate book covers, page layouts, worksheets, activities, and visual elements.
• Work on typography, image placement, colour combinations, alignment, and page composition.
• Prepare artwork and documents according to printing and publishing specifications.
• Make corrections and revisions based on feedback from the editorial, content, QC, and project teams.
• Ensure consistency in fonts, styles, colours, illustrations, icons, and layouts throughout a book/project.
• Work with existing templates and design guidelines while also contributing new creative ideas.
• Coordinate with content, editorial, QC, production, and project teams to complete projects within deadlines.
• Check files carefully for layout errors, missing elements, image quality, font issues, alignment, and other design-related errors before final submission.
• Prepare print-ready PDFs and final production files.
• Support senior designers in developing new design concepts and visual styles.
• Organize and maintain design files, linked images, fonts, and source files properly.
• Handle multiple projects and meet assigned deadlines.

Required Skills

• Good knowledge of Adobe InDesign

Preferred Skills

Candidates with experience in educational publishing, children's books, school books, activity books, or print media will be preferred.

Knowledge of Marathi, Hindi, or other Indian languages and experience working with multilingual layouts will be an added advantage.

Qualification

• Bachelor's/Diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, Applied Arts, or a related field.
• Relevant certification or a strong portfolio can also be considered.
