Position: Junior Fiber Hardening Test Engineer
Experience: 15 Years
Location: Chennai, IN
Employment Type: Full-time

We are looking for a test engineer with a good understanding of PON technologies, networking fundamentals, Linux environments, Python automation, and Robot Framework. The candidate will be responsible for test execution, automation, troubleshooting, defect management, and regression testing.

Key Responsibilities & Skills

• Good understanding of PON fundamentals, including GPON/XGS-PON architecture and basic optical access concepts.
• Familiarity with switch/router operations and networking protocols such as TCP/IP, VLAN, OSPF, and BGP.
• Basic understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 forwarding to support test scenario development.
• Experience in test execution, defect management, test reporting, and regression testing.
• Working knowledge of Linux-based test environments, including CentOS, Rocky Linux, and Ubuntu.
• Basic exposure to Docker and Kubernetes for test environment setup and execution.
• Ability to use Shell commands and scripting for log collection, environment validation, test execution, and troubleshooting.
• Experience developing Python scripts for test automation, data processing, and basic test result analysis.
• Hands-on experience with Robot Framework, including developing and maintaining test cases and keywords.
• Experience developing Python-based Robot Framework keyword libraries for automated regression testing.

Desired Candidate Profile

• 15 years of relevant experience in network testing, telecom testing, fiber/PON testing, or test automation.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Good understanding of networking and Linux fundamentals.
• Hands-on exposure to Python, Shell scripting, and Robot Framework.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
