Job summary

Bondada Group is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Fibre in Hyderabad with 15+ years of experience to lead fiber network O&M across backbone, access and last-mile segments. You will drive uptime, perform root-cause analysis, oversee fault restoration, and guide field teams through complex restoration and splicing activities.

You will review route diagrams, budgets and test reports, ensuring quality per industry standards and SLAs.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with fiber networks and O&M processes.
• Proficient in FTTH/GPON networks and backbone management.
• Strong leadership and communication to guide field teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead fiber network O&M activities including backbone, access, and last-mile networks.
• Ensure maximum uptime and rapid restoration during fiber cuts or outages.
• Monitor performance and implement corrective actions.
• Provide expert troubleshooting for OTDR analyses and fiber faults.
• Mentor field engineers and coordinate with vendors and customers.
• Ensure SOPs, safety, and compliance; prepare performance reports.

Position: Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Fibre

Department: Telecom Operations & Maintenance (O&M)

Experience: 15+ Years

Location: Hyderabad

Key Responsibilities

• Network Operations & Maintenance
• Lead and manage fiber network O&M activities including backbone, access, and last-mile fiber networks.
• Ensure maximum network uptime and quick restoration during fiber cuts or outages.
• Monitor fiber network performance and implement corrective actions when required.
• Ensure proper preventive and corrective maintenance of fiber infrastructure.
• Technical Expertise & Troubleshooting
• Provide expert-level support for fiber faults, OTDR analysis, and network troubleshooting.
• Analyze fiber performance issues and recommend technical solutions and improvements.
• Guide field teams in handling complex fiber restoration and splicing activities.
• Review and validate fiber route diagrams, link loss budgets, and test reports.
• Project & Team Management
• Lead and mentor field engineers, fiber technicians, and supervisors.
• Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and customers for smooth network operations.
• Ensure field teams follow SOPs, safety standards, and operational guidelines.
• Conduct technical training sessions for field teams to enhance skill levels.
• Network Quality & Compliance
• Ensure fiber network quality as per telecom industry standards and customer SLAs.
• Monitor key performance indicators such as MTTR, fault resolution time, and uptime.
• Ensure compliance with project documentation, testing procedures, and audit requirements.
• Reporting & Documentation
• Prepare and review network performance reports, outage reports, and root cause analysis (RCA).
• Maintain proper documentation related to fiber routes, maintenance activities, and fault history.
• Support management with technical insights, improvement plans, and operational strategies.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong expertise in FTTX networks, GPON, fiber backbone, and access networks.
• Hands‑on experience with OTDR testing, fiber splicing, fiber fault localization, and restoration.
• Knowledge of telecom O&M processes and network management practices.
• Ability to analyze network issues and provide quick technical solutions.
• Strong team leadership, coordination, and communication skills.

Educational Qualification

B.E / B.Tech / Diploma in Electronics/Telecommunications/Electrical Engineering.
