Job summary

KONE in Chennai is seeking a Junior Engineer - Field Quality (SEB) to support inspection planning, guidance of operators, and the effective implementation of quality processes at sites. You will coordinate sample tests, document quality results, and ensure measurement systems are properly calibrated.

As part of the role, you will communicate findings to the Quality Manager and relevant site teams, raise containment actions, and help drive best practices across installation and maintenance

Qualifications

• Prepares inspection plans and procedures/instructions and guides operators.
• Performs sample tests and process audits with proper measurement system implementation.
• Creates reports on quality measurements and inspection results.
• Communicates results to Quality Manager/Specialist and site supervisors.
• Raises containment actions and identifies improvement opportunities.
• Trains operatives at installation, maintenance or production sites.

• Carries out and submits material and work inspections; participates in client inspections as KONE representative.
• Leads clearance of non-conformities highlighted by the client.
• Prepares project close out documents such as SEB inspection and snag items.

What will you be doing?

• Prepares inspection plans and procedures/instructions, communicates them and assures their implementation by giving guidance and support to the operators
• Performs sample tests and process audits and assure the measurement system is correctly implemented. Create reports regarding quality measurements and inspections. Keep record of inspection results and ensure correct calibration of measurement equipment
• Communicates inspection and audit results to relevant stakeholders such as Quality Manager/Specialist, Installation/Maintenance/Production Supervisor, Field Trainer, Project Manager.
• Responsible to raise containment actions and identify best practices and improvement opportunities. Performs root cause analysis and proposes corrective actions
• Engages and trains operatives at installation, maintenance or production sites

In addition to the above Quality Technician in Major Projects (located in Frontline):

• Prepares summary of inspection results for customer communication and site meetings
• Carries out and submits material and work inspections. When client inspections are contractually required, she/he shall participate on those as KONE representative.
• Responsible to lead clearance of non-conformities highlighted by the client
• Prepares and participate in creating project close out documents such as SEB inspection, and snag items
