Job summary

AB InBev GCC India in Bangalore is seeking a BI Developer to design, develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports that transform data into actionable insights for business stakeholders.

The role requires 3–4 years of Power BI experience, strong DAX and data modeling skills, and hands-on Azure Databricks (PySpark/SQL) to enable scalable analytics across cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of Power BI development experience.
• Proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M) and data modeling.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks (PySpark or SQL).
• Strong understanding of ETL/ELT and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience with SQL Server/Azure SQL and large datasets.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Develop and optimize data models, DAX measures and queries for performance.
• Integrate Power BI with Azure Databricks, SQL databases and other cloud data platforms.
• Collaborate with data engineers to ingest and transform data using Databricks (PySpark / SQL).
• Ensure data accuracy, governance and security across BI solutions.
• Troubleshoot reporting and refresh issues.
• Automate data refreshes with Power Automate and build low-code apps with Power Apps.

Job Title: BI Developer

1. PURPOSE OF ROLE

• Design, develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports that transform data into actionable business insights.
• Work with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Develop and optimize data models, DAX measures and queries for performance, accuracy and scalability.
• Integrate Power BI with data sources including Azure Databricks, SQL and cloud platforms.
• Collaborate with data engineers to ingest and transform data using Databricks (PySpark / SQL).
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, governance, security and performance across BI solutions.

2. KEY TASKS & ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Power BI Development
• Design, develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, reports and visualizations.
• Develop and optimize data models, DAX measures and Power Query (M) transformations.
• Apply data visualization best practices to present clear and actionable insights.
• Troubleshoot and resolve reporting, data and refresh issues.
• Data Integration & Engineering Collaboration
• Integrate Power BI with Azure Databricks, SQL databases and other cloud data platforms.
• Collaborate with data engineers to ingest and transform data using Databricks (PySpark / SQL).
• Apply understanding of ETL / ELT processes and data warehousing concepts to support reliable reporting.
• Work with relational databases such as SQL Server and Azure SQL.
• Data Quality, Governance & Performance
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency and governance across reports and dashboards.
• Work with large datasets and optimize data models, queries and report performance.
• Follow best practices for BI development, data security and performance tuning.
• Support and maintain Power BI solutions across Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
• Automation & Low-Code Solutions
• Automate data refreshes and workflows using Power Automate, where applicable.
• Build low-code business applications using Power Apps, where applicable.
• Stakeholder Collaboration
• Partner with business stakeholders to clarify requirements and validate delivered solutions.
• Communicate technical findings and reporting outcomes clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

3. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS

• Experience: 3–4 years of experience in Power BI development using Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
• Power BI: Proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M language) and data modeling concepts.
• Azure Databricks: Hands‑on experience with Azure Databricks using PySpark or SQL.
• Data Engineering: Strong understanding of ETL / ELT processes and data warehousing concepts.
• Databases: Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server and Azure SQL.
• Performance: Ability to work with large datasets and optimize report, query and model performance.
• Data Visualization: Good understanding of data visualization principles and dashboard design best practices.
• Automation / Low-Code: Exposure to Power Automate and Power Apps is an advantage.
• Communication: Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Portfolio: Links to relevant portfolio projects or GitHub repositories may be included.
