Job summary

Larsen & Toubro is actively seeking a software professional to develop and integrate AI/ML capabilities into digital learning platforms in Chennai. You will build AI-powered applications using LLMs, NLP, and RAG, and connect AI services via APIs.

Proficiency in Python and hands-on Generative AI experience are essential, with collaboration across product, engineering, and data teams. The role emphasizes prototyping, deployment, debugging, and continuous improvement of AI-powered solutions,

Qualifications

• Strong programming knowledge in Python.
• Good understanding of software development fundamentals.
• Basic understanding of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning concepts.
• Hands-on exposure to Generative AI / LLM-based applications.
• Familiarity with Prompt Engineering, RAG, Embeddings, and Vector Databases.
• Exposure to NLP, REST APIs, and Git/GitHub.
• Experience with AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, LangChain, or LlamaIndex.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and databases.
• Familiarity with software development practices and version control.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate AI/ML and Generative AI capabilities into digital learning and platform products.
• Build AI-powered applications using LLMs, NLP, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), embeddings, and vector databases.
• Develop and integrate APIs to connect AI services with existing platform applications.
• Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code primarily using Python.
• Assist in developing and optimizing prompts for LLM-based applications.
• Support data preprocessing, model evaluation, testing, and basic machine learning workflows.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, UI/UX, Data, and other cross-functional teams to develop technology solutions.
• Build prototypes and proof-of-concepts to evaluate emerging AI technologies and use cases.
• Support the deployment, debugging, monitoring, and continuous improvement of AI-powered applications.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, documentation, and other software development practices.
• Stay updated on developments in Generative AI, LLMs, AI Agents, and AI application development.
