Job summary

Arokee is seeking a Junior Designer to join our design team and collaborate with the Head of Design on commercial interior and workspace transformation projects. You will translate design concepts into accurate drawings and compelling presentations.

The role requires strong design fundamentals, attention to detail, and the ability to work across multiple projects, with guidance from senior designers. Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with SketchUp, Revit or Enscape is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in interior design, architecture, design studio, or fit-out projects.
• Commercial interior or workplace design experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
• Working knowledge of SketchUp, Revit, or Enscape is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for presentations.
• Portfolio demonstrating spatial planning, material selection, drawings, and/or commercial interior projects is required.
• Strong spatial awareness and understanding of proportion, materials, lighting, and finishes.
• Ability to convert design briefs into accurate layouts and drawings.
• Good attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Creative thinking with a practical approach to design.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and revisions.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Collaborative attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to take feedback and work effectively under the guidance of senior designers.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing design concepts, space planning layouts, and mood boards for commercial and office fit-out projects.
• Prepare working drawings, furniture layouts, and material schedules under the guidance of the Head of Design.
• Support client presentations through design boards, visual decks, and presentation materials.
• Participate in site visits to monitor design intent and identify deviations from approved drawings.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for materials, finishes, and FF&E requirements.
• Maintain organised project documentation, including drawings, revisions, and design records.
• Stay updated with workspace design trends, materials, and commercial interior design standards.
• Work collaboratively with the design team and contribute ideas while taking direction from senior designers.
