Job summary

Surbana Jurong in Bengaluru is seeking a Hydraulic Design Engineer to lead the hydraulic design and analysis of rural drinking water supply systems, from source to service delivery, and to develop models for transmission and distribution networks.

The role involves determining design flows, pipe diameters, pumping requirements, storage, and pressure zoning; coordinating with electrical, structural, and pipeline teams; and providing support during construction and project documentation.

Responsibilities

• Undertake hydraulic design and analysis of rural drinking water supply systems, including source-to-service delivery infrastructure.
• Develop and review hydraulic models for transmission and distribution networks.
• Determine design flows, pipe diameters, pumping requirements, storage capacities, and pressure zones.
• Carry out surge analysis and recommend appropriate surge protection measures.
• Review designs, drawings, calculations, and contractor submissions to ensure technical compliance.
• Coordinate with structural, mechanical, electrical, and pipeline design teams for integrated project delivery.
• Support optimization of water supply schemes to improve efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Participate in design reviews, technical evaluations, and project planning activities.
• Provide technical support during construction, testing, commissioning, and performance verification of water supply systems.
• Prepare hydraulic design reports, technical notes, and project documentation.
