Job summary

Tata Communications is seeking a Network Operations Technician in Thane (India) to support day-to-day network operations under direct supervision. The role requires a graduate with 0-2 years of experience and hands-on work with DWDM and fibre testing equipment.

Key tasks include equipment software upgrades with NOC coordination, fault identification using OTDR, and managing IRU partners to ensure uptime. Strong communication with customers and stakeholders is essential for timely RCA/POA updates.

Qualifications

• Graduate with 0-2 years experience.
• Experience in ISP troubleshooting with Ciena DWDM, Tejas DWDM, Nokia DWDM, Huawei DWDM.
• Equipment software upgrade with NOC coordination for telecom equipment (Ciena, Tejas, Nokia, Huawei).
• Optical fiber testing and fault identification using OTDR, LSPM, and fiber splicing (Fujikura).
• Vendor and IRU partner handling to improve uptime in fiber network.
• Team management and materials management.
• Compliance processes via FSM, SNOW for daily activities.
• Strong communication with customers and stakeholders; timely RCA/POA updates.
• Infra knowledge: SMPS, battery banks, DG, PAC, infra alarm testing at IP Colo sites.

• Maintaining and administering network tools and equipment.
• Assisting with and implementing installations as required.
• Maintain daily site activities and routines.
• Ensure SLAs are achieved and proactively maintained.
• IRU route coordination.
• COLO IP coordination for infra-related activities.

Other Knowledge & Skills

• Isp trouble shooting like Ciena DWDM , Tejas DWDM and SDH , Nokia DWDM , Huawei DWDM etc ,
• Equipment software upgrade, with Noc coordination for various telecom equipment''s running in the network like Ciena , Tejas, Nokia , Huawei , etc.
• optical fiber testing and fault identification through , OTDR , LSPM , fiber splicing , through splicing machine like Fujikura ,
• Handling of Vendor and IRU partner for better uptime in fiber network.
• Team management , Materials management,
• Compliance process as per the organization toi meet the day to day activity on daily basis through Apps like , FSM , SNOW etc .
• Well communication with customers and all stake holders to resolve the network issue and timely update against RCA and POA.
• Infra knowledge like , SMPS , delta/Emerson battery bank , like lithium , /VRLA , dg , PAC , and infra alarm testing with Ip Colo sites specially , ASECND , ATC , VIL
• Coordination with IRU partner for their fiber fault rectification along TTSL , BIL, DEPL by escalating regularly , and meeting .
