Job summary

Verticl, based in Bandra, Mumbai, seeks a Junior Architect with 2–4 years of experience to join our growing team. This hands-on role covers the lifecycle of redevelopment projects—from design development and consultant coordination to approvals, working drawings and on-site execution.

You will contribute beyond drawings, collaborating with construction teams and stakeholders while refining drawings, detailing and design coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture (B.Arch) from a recognised institution.
• 2–4 years of professional experience.
• Strong understanding of architectural drawings, detailing and construction.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential.
• Knowledge of SketchUp, Revit/BIM, Photoshop, MS Office advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design Development & Coordination: Develop architectural concepts, layouts, plans, elevations and design details.
• Review drawings for functionality, constructability and design consistency.
• Coordinate design development across architecture, structure, MEP, façade, landscape and interiors.
• Identify design clashes and coordination issues before they reach the site.
• Maintain updated drawing sets and ensure stakeholders work with latest revisions.
• Support preparation of presentation drawings, design options and material boards.

About the Role

We are looking for a Junior Architect with 2–4 years of experience to join our growing team.

This is a hands-on role for someone who wants exposure beyond architectural drawings. You will work across the lifecycle of our redevelopment projects — from design development and consultant coordination to approvals, working drawings and on-site execution.

Key Responsibilities

Design Development & Coordination

• Assist in developing architectural concepts, layouts, plans, elevations and design details.
• Review architectural drawings for functionality, constructability and design consistency.
• Coordinate design development across architecture, structure, MEP, façade, landscape and interiors.
• Identify design clashes and coordination issues before they reach the site.
• Maintain updated drawing sets and ensure all stakeholders are working with the latest revisions.
• Support preparation of presentation drawings, design options and material boards.

Consultant Coordination

• Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, MEP consultants, façade consultants and other specialist agencies.
• Track consultant deliverables and ensure drawings are received according to project timelines.
• Review drawings across disciplines and highlight discrepancies or missing information.
• Maintain a structured Design Coordination / RFI Tracker and drive closure of open design issues.

Site & Execution Support

• Visit project sites regularly to understand execution requirements and resolve design-related queries.
• Coordinate with site engineers, contractors and vendors to ensure work is executed as per approved drawings.
• Review shop drawings, samples and mock-ups before execution.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture (B.Arch) from a recognised institution.
• 2–4 years of professional experience , preferably with an architectural practice, real estate developer or design consultancy.
• Strong understanding of architectural drawings, detailing and construction.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential.
• Working knowledge of SketchUp, Revit/BIM, Photoshop, MS Office or similar design tools will be an advantage.
• Understanding of Mumbai DCPR 2034 / redevelopment regulations would be preferred.
• Comfortable working closely with construction teams and spending time at project sites.
• Strong coordination, documentation and follow-up skills.
• Ability to identify problems in drawings rather than simply reproduce them.
