Job summary

Z Carbon Studios is seeking a Junior Architect to support design and documentation for residential and commercial projects in the Greater Chennai Area. The role is full-time and on-site, with responsibilities for drawings, 3D models, and research across project stages.

You will work closely with senior staff to integrate design and technical requirements, participate in reviews, and maintain project files and schedules while adhering to studio standards.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Architecture and Architectural Design.
• Basic understanding of Software Development and Integration as they relate to design tools, BIM workflows, and digital collaboration platforms.
• Ability to contribute to Project Management activities, including organizing tasks and coordinating with stakeholders.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp and basic 3D visualization tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and documentation of architectural projects under senior guidance.
• Prepare drawings and 3D models, assist with design development, and coordinate with consultants.
• Contribute to material and product research and ensure design deliverables meet quality standards.

Role Description

The Junior Architect will support the design and documentation of architectural projects, working closely with senior team members in the Greater Chennai Area. This full-time, on-site role includes preparing drawings and 3D models, assisting with design development, coordinating with consultants, and contributing to material and product research. The Junior Architect will help integrate design and technical requirements, participate in internal reviews, and maintain project files and documentation. The role also involves supporting project management activities such as tracking milestones, updating schedules, and ensuring design deliverables meet quality standards.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Architecture and Architectural Design, with the ability to translate concepts into clear drawings and models.
• Basic understanding of Software Development and Integration as they relate to design tools, BIM workflows, and digital collaboration platforms.
• Ability to contribute to Project Management activities, including organizing tasks, tracking progress, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in industry-standard design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar) and basic 3D visualization tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or equivalent professional qualification.
• Attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to follow established design and documentation standards.
• Effective communication skills and willingness to learn from feedback in a collaborative studio environment.
• Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and sustainable design principles in the Indian context is an advantage.
