Job summary

Lotus Technicals Pvt. Ltd. in Thane is seeking a Jr. Engineer-Utility Equipment and Piping Engineering (FEED) to support utility estimation, load balancing, and equipment sizing for process plants.

You will assist in PFDs, P&IDs, pipe routing, isometrics, BOQs, and data sheets while coordinating with HVAC, Electrical, and Project Management teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform utility estimation based on requirements of process equipment, HVAC, and other systems.
• Balance loads and analyze capacities of utility equipment.
• Assist in determining capacity requirements and equipment selection.
• Prepare utility area layouts and equipment sizing details.
• Prepare PFDs and P&IDs.
• Assist in pipe routing and isometric drawings.
• Assist in cross-sectional views of pipe racks and layouts.
• Calculate pump head, pipe size, MOC, and valve sizing/selection.
• Prepare BOQs based on approved designs and layouts.
• Prepare technical specifications and data sheets for utility and piping equipment.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal departments (HVAC, Electrical, PM).
• Contribute to innovative design ideas and stay updated with standards.

Job Description

JobDescription:

1. To perform utility estimation based on the utility requirements ofprocess equipment, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems,and other equipment .

2. To perform load balancing of utility systems and capacity analysis ofutility equipment .

3. To assist in determining utility capacity requirements and selectingequipment based on utility estimation and capacity analysis .

4. To prepare utility area layouts and equipment sizing details based on utilityequipment selection and space planning.

5. To prepare Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs).

6. Toprepare Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).

7. To assist in pipe routing and the preparation of isometric drawings.

8. To assist in preparingcross-sectional views of pipe racks along with piping layouts.

9. To assist in calculating pump head, determining pipe size, Material ofConstruction (MOC), and performing valve sizing and selection based on theproperties of fluids and process media.

10. To prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) based on approved designs andlayouts .

11. Toassist in preparing technical specifications and data sheets for all utilityand piping equipment and components.

12. To coordinate with vendors and internal departments such as HVAC,Electrical, and Project Management to obtain the data required for utility andpiping design.

13. To contribute to the development ofinnovative design ideas in utility and piping engineering and stay updated with the latest technologies, industrystandards, and engineering practices.

Knowledge:

1. Working knowledge of AutoCAD and the abilityto use it as required.

3. Basic knowledge of utility equipmenttypes, specifications, and selection criteria.

4. Basic knowledge of utility and processequipment, their components, and associated vendors and manufacturers.

5. Basicknowledge of utility systems, piping design, equipment selection, and relevant engineeringcalculations.

6. Basic knowledge of piping systems,fittings, valves, instrumentation, applicable codes, and industry standards.

PreferredKnowledge:

1. Familiarity withthe pharmaceutical industry, particularly with utility and process systems usedin pharmaceutical facilities.

2. Basicunderstanding of pharmaceutical process flows.

3. Exposure to thepreparation and interpretation of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)for utility and process equipment.

4. Basicunderstanding of applicable engineering standards, codes, and GoodManufacturing Practice ( GMP)requirements for pharmaceutical projects.
