Job summary

Executive Edit seeks a Jewellery Designer to shape a private collection blending heritage Indian traditions with contemporary luxury. You will craft original pieces using antique influences such as Kundan, Polki, and Jadau, while translating client briefs into bespoke concepts.

You will produce hand sketches and CAD renderings (Matrix/JewelCAD/Rhino), select gemstones and metals, and collaborate with karigars to ensure flawless execution.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in jewellery design from a recognised institute.
• 4+ years of experience in fine or high jewellery design.
• Strong CAD skills and traditional hand sketching ability.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualise and design pieces drawing on antique and regional Indian influences.
• Translate briefs into bespoke private commission concepts.
• Produce detailed hand sketches and CAD renderings for presentations.
• Select gemstones and metals with the sourcing team, balancing design intent.
• Collaborate with karigars and workshops to ensure faithful execution.
• Maintain a design archive of inspirations and past commissions.
• Stay updated with global fine jewellery trends and high jewellery movements.

About the Opportunity

A well-established South Indian jewellery house, with a legacy oF decades in diamond and gold jewellery, is launching an exclusive, by-appointment private collection for a select clientele of high-net-worth collectors. The house is looking for a talented Jewellery Designer to shape the creative direction of this new private collection.

Key Responsibilities

• Conceptualise and design original jewellery pieces, drawing on antique, heritage, and regional Indian influences such as Kundan, Polki, Jadau, and temple jewellery, alongside contemporary aesthetics.
• Translate client briefs and occasions into bespoke design concepts for private, high-value commissions.
• Produce detailed hand sketches and CAD renderings using tools such as Matrix, JewelCAD, or Rhino for client presentation and production.
• Select and pair gemstones and metals in collaboration with the sourcing and gemology team, balancing rarity, provenance, and design intent.
• Work closely with karigars and production workshops to ensure designs are faithfully executed.
• Maintain a design archive documenting inspirations, references, and past commissions.
• Stay current with global fine jewellery, antique auction trends, and design movements relevant to high jewellery.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Degree or diploma in jewellery design from NIFT, IIGJ, GIA, or an equivalent recognised institute.
• 4+ years of experience designing fine or high jewellery, ideally with exposure to antique, heritage, or bridal categories.
• Strong hand-sketching ability alongside working proficiency in CAD jewellery design software.
• Sound working knowledge of gemstones, precious metals, and traditional Indian jewellery-making techniques.
• A portfolio demonstrating original design work across styles and inspirations.
• Comfortable working on confidential, high-value private commissions.
