Job summary

datavruti is seeking a Technical Lead - Backend JAVA to own the architecture and delivery of scalable backend services in an AI-native InsurTech setup. You will lead distributed systems design, drive technical decisions, and mentor a backend team across AWS/GCP-enabled microservices.

Role demands 9–12 years experience, hands-on coding, and collaboration with product and AI/ML teams to deliver robust, secure, and observable systems. Mumbai-based, strong engineering excellence required.

Qualifications

• 9–12 years of backend development experience with Java/Spring Boot.
• Strong expertise in distributed systems and system design.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka, microservices, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP).
• Experience leading teams and driving architecture decisions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Architect and build microservices, APIs, and event-driven workflows for enterprise apps.
• Integrate backend platforms with AI agents, automation workflows, and external systems.
• Own backend architecture ensuring scalability, security, reliability, observability and performance.
• Lead design and implementation of distributed systems with architectural reviews and best practices.
• Mentor backend engineers through code reviews and hands-on problem solving.
• Collaborate with Product, AI/ML teams, DevOps, and customers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Promote secure coding, automated testing, performance tuning, and production readiness.

Salary: 65–80 LPA (includes variable based on fitment)

Note: Looking for engineers with strong expertise in Distributed Systems, System Design, Kafka, Microservices, and AWS/GCP. This is a hands‑on Tech Lead role in an AI-native InsurTech startup

Core Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Architect and build microservices, APIs, and event‑driven/asynchronous workflows for enterprise applications.
• Build and optimize backend platforms that seamlessly integrate with AI agents, automation workflows, and external enterprise systems.
• Own the technical architecture of backend services, ensuring scalability, security, reliability, observability, and performance.
• Lead the design and implementation of distributed systems by driving architectural decisions, design reviews, and engineering best practices.
• Lead backend engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, and hands‑on problem solving while fostering engineering excellence.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, AI/ML engineers, domain experts, DevOps teams, and customers to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Drive engineering quality through secure coding practices, automated testing, performance optimization, and production readiness.
• Identify and resolve technical risks, bottlenecks, and architectural challenges throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Contribute to technology roadmap planning, technical hiring, and continuous improvement of engineering processes and development standards.
