Job summary

Synechron is seeking an experienced Technical Java Architect with a strong Banking/Financial Services background. The role involves defining enterprise architecture, designing scalable Java solutions, and leading architectural discussions across multiple teams.

You will drive modernization efforts and ensure security and regulatory compliance. The candidate will mentor teams, develop design artifacts, and collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical roadmaps.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development experience with Java technologies.
• Experience in architecture, technical design, and solutioning roles.
• Banking/Financial Services domain experience is highly desirable.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an experienced Technical Java Architect with strong Banking/Financial Services domain expertise and hands-on experience in solution architecture, application design, and framework development.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and drive enterprise architecture and technical strategy for banking applications.
• Design scalable, high-performance, secure, and resilient Java-based solutions.
• Lead architecture discussions and provide technical direction to development teams.
• Develop and enforce architecture standards, design patterns, and framework best practices.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and technology teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Create High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents.
• Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, and design governance activities.
• Drive modernization initiatives, microservices adoption, and cloud-native solutions.
• Mentor development teams and provide technical leadership across multiple projects.
• Ensure compliance with banking security, regulatory, and risk management standards.

Skills Required

Technical Skills

• Strong expertise in Core Java, Java 8+, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, REST APIs
• Extensive experience in Microservices Architecture and Distributed Systems
• Experience in Framework Development and Enterprise Application Design
• Strong understanding of Design Patterns and Object-Oriented Design Principles
• Expertise in Application Architecture and Solution Design
• Experience with Kafka, MQ, Messaging Systems, and Event-Driven Architecture
• Hands-on experience with Oracle, SQL, and NoSQL databases
• Knowledge of Cloud Technologies (AWS/Azure/OpenShift/Kubernetes preferred)
• Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and Agile methodologies
• Strong understanding of Security, Authentication, Authorization, and API Governance

Banking Domain Experience

• Strong experience in Banking and Financial Services projects
• Exposure to Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, Payments, Treasury, Lending, Trade Finance, or Capital Markets domains
• Understanding of banking systems integration and regulatory requirements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline
• 10+ years of software development experience with Java technologies
• 3+ years of experience in Architecture, Technical Design, and Solutioning roles
• Proven experience in designing large-scale enterprise banking applications
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
