Job summary

Network People Services Technologies Ltd. is hiring a Technical Lead to architect and deliver enterprise-grade UPI solutions using Java-based technologies. You will own technical design, architecture, scalability, and delivery while ensuring high availability, security, and NPCI compliance.

You will define scalable payment architectures, collaborate with banks and fintech partners, and drive API standards, monitoring, and DevOps initiatives to meet delivery timelines and quality goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or software engineering.
• 8–12 years of IT/ fintech experience with payments domain.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of high-volume UPI payment platforms.
• Drive architecture discussions for UPI lifecycles: Collect, Intent, Pay, Mandates, UPI Lite, Autopay.
• Lead a technical team of developers, analysts and product stakeholders.
• Design scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed payment systems for peak volumes.
• Ensure NPCI guidelines, certifications and UPI specs are met.
• Collaborate with banks, fintechs, and switch providers for integrations.
• Define API standards, security controls, reconciliation, and monitoring.
• Review code and mentor teams; establish engineering best practices.
• Drive performance tuning for low latency and high throughput.
• Handle architecture reviews, risk assessments, and capacity planning.
• Troubleshoot production issues and resolve bottlenecks.
• Ensure security, audit, regulatory and operational compliance.
• Contribute to DevOps, CI/CD, and automation initiatives.

What will you do

As a Technical Lead, you will work as part of a team on the design and implementation of enterprise-grade UPI solutions using Java-based technologies and agile software development methodologies. You will take ownership of technical design, architecture, scalability, and delivery of UPI payment systems while ensuring high availability, security, and regulatory compliance.

Role is responsible for defining, integrating, and upgrading scalable payment architectures supporting UPI transaction processing across issuing and acquiring ecosystems.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of high-volume UPI payment processing platforms.
• Drive architecture discussions for UPI transaction life cycles including Collect, Intent, Pay, Mandates, UPI Lite, Autopay, and recurring payments.
• Lead a technical team consisting of software developers, business analysts, and product stakeholders.
• Design scalable, fault-tolerant, and distributed payment systems capable of handling peak transaction volumes.
• Ensure adherence to NPCI guidelines, certifications, and UPI product specifications.
• Collaborate with banks, fintech partners, switch providers, and stakeholders for seamless integrations.
• Define and implement API standards, security controls, reconciliation frameworks, and transaction monitoring mechanisms.
• Review code, mentor development teams, and establish engineering best practices.
• Drive performance tuning and optimization of payment applications with focus on low latency and high throughput.
• Perform architecture reviews, risk assessments, and capacity planning.
• Troubleshoot production issues and resolve system bottlenecks.
• Ensure compliance with security, audit, regulatory, and operational requirements.
• Contribute to DevOps implementation, CI/CD processes, and automation initiatives.
• Oversee delivery timelines, technical governance, and quality assurance.

What are we looking for:

• Advanced knowledge of Java architecture, enterprise application design, and payment ecosystem architecture.
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Microservices, REST APIs, Kafka/RabbitMQ, and distributed systems.
• Deep understanding of UPI architecture and NPCI switching ecosystem.
• Experience with UPI products such as UPI P2P, P2M, Autopay, Lite, Credit Line on UPI, and Merchant Payments.
• Strong knowledge of payment message flows, transaction routing, reconciliation, dispute management, and settlement.
• Hands-on experience designing systems that process high transaction volumes with high availability.
• Experience with Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, etc.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks, encryption, tokenization, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to solve complex production and scalability challenges.
• Experience working with banks, payment aggregators, fintechs, or payment processors.

Education Qualification - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Software Engineering.
