Job summary

Kumaran Systems is seeking a Java Developer & Support Engineer with 3+ years’ hands‑on experience in Core Java and Spring Boot to develop, troubleshoot, and optimize applications. You will handle production support, incident management, and deployment readiness while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure system stability.

The role requires DevOps tooling familiarity and the ability to work in shift-based IST hours, including weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Core Java (Java 8) and strong Spring Boot experience.
• Experience with Microservices, REST APIs, and SQL.
• Hands-on with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with log monitoring and production support.
• Familiarity with Git, Jenkins, Maven, Jira, Confluence, and Artifactory.
• Basic understanding of GitHub Actions, Grafana, Kiali, Kibana.
• Aware of incident and change management processes.
• Knowledge of Azure Cloud, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a Java Developer & Support Engineer with 3+ years of experience in Core Java and strong expertise in Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, and SQL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for both application development and production support, including troubleshooting, incident management, deployment support, and performance optimization. The role requires hands‑on experience with DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, log monitoring, and collaboration with cross‑functional teams to ensure application stability and timely issue resolution.

Java developer & Support Engineer

• Candidate should have minimum 3 years of experience in Core Java (V8).
• Should possess minimum 2 years of experience in Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs and SQL.
• Should be able to write sql queries, joins and perform query optimization.
• Should have minimum 1 year of experience with DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, Maven, Jira, Confluence, JFrog Artifactory and CI/CD pipelines for build and deployment activities.
• Should have basic understanding of GitHub Actions, Grafana, Kiali and Kibana.
• Should be able to analyze, debug, and resolve application defects in production and non‑production environments.
• Should be familiar with writing Junit test cases.
• Should possess minimum 1 year of experience with Incident and Change management processes.
• Basic understanding of Azure Cloud, Docker, Kubernetes and OpenShift console for log monitoring.
• Monitor application logs in production and elevate issues in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with development team for quick understanding and resolution of issues.
• Support release activities, deployment readiness and environment validation.
• Should be ready to support over weekend on demand basis.
• Should be flexible to work from 8 am to 5 pm IST shifts and 2pm to 11pm IST shifts.
• Participate in on‑call support rotation as needed.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
