Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 production support for Java-based applications.
• Monitor application health and ensure maximum uptime.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents within SLAs.
• Perform RCA and log analysis for critical incidents.
• Support and maintain microservices built with Spring Boot.
• Monitor Kafka topics, consumer groups, brokers and message flows.
• Manage deployment activities and production releases.
• Collaborate with development, infra, and business teams to resolve complex issues.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Java Spring Boot Kafka Production Support Engineer with 6-10 years of IT experience to support and maintain mission-critical applications in a production environment. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, troubleshooting production issues, incident management, monitoring, and performance optimization while ensuring high application availability and stability.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 production support for Java-based enterprise applications.


• Monitor application health, identify issues proactively, and ensure maximum uptime.


• Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents within defined SLAs.


• Analyze application logs and perform root cause analysis (RCA) for critical incidents.


• Support and maintain microservices built using Spring Boot.


• Monitor and troubleshoot Kafka topics, consumer groups, brokers, and message flows.


• Manage deployment activities and production releases.


• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and business teams to resolve complex issues.


• Perform application performance tuning and optimization.


• Participate in on-call support and rotational shifts as required.


• Create and maintain support documentation, runbooks, and knowledge articles.


• Drive continuous service improvement initiatives to reduce recurring incidents.

Required Technical Skills

Core Java & Frameworks

• Strong experience in Java 8/11/17.


• Expertise in Spring Boot and Spring Framework.


• Experience with RESTful APIs and Microservices Architecture.


• Good understanding of multithreading, collections, exception handling, and JVM concepts.

Kafka

• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka.


• Knowledge of Kafka Producers, Consumers, Topics, Partitions, and Consumer Groups.


• Experience in troubleshooting message failures, lag monitoring, and offset management.


• Understanding of Kafka performance tuning and monitoring.

Database

• Experience with SQL databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.


• Ability to write complex SQL queries for troubleshooting and data analysis.


• Understanding of database performance tuning concepts.

Production Support

• Experience in Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes.


• Hands-on experience with ticketing tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, or Remedy.


• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.


• Exposure to SLA, RCA, and ITIL-based support processes.

Monitoring & DevOps

• Experience with Splunk, ELK, Grafana, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or Prometheus.


• Knowledge of Unix/Linux commands and shell scripting.


• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, Maven, and Kubernetes/OpenShift.



• Experience in application deployment and release management.
