Job summary

Iris Software, Inc. is seeking a skilled Java backend engineer in India to design and develop scalable enterprise applications using microservices, Spring Boot, and modern Java practices.

You will play a key role in API design, performance optimization, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver robust software solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience with Java 17+ and microservices in enterprise apps.
• Strong knowledge of Spring Boot, Spring Security and Kafka.
• Ability to design API contracts and scalable backend systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable Java enterprise applications using core Java, Spring Boot, and microservices.
• Define API contracts, service boundaries, and integration strategies for distributed systems.
• Develop reusable backend components and enterprise services with clean architecture and secure coding.
• Optimize application performance through caching, asynchronous processing, database tuning, and JVM optimization.
• Own end-to-end delivery of assigned modules including design, development, testing support, and deployment readiness.
• Mentor junior developers on coding standards and best practices.
• Drive CI/CD improvements, logging, monitoring, and deployment automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable enterprise applications using Core Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
• Define API contracts, service boundaries, and integration strategies for distributed and enterprise-grade systems.
• Develop reusable backend components and enterprise services following clean architecture and secure coding practices.
• Optimize application performance through caching, asynchronous processing, database tuning, and JVM optimization.
• Own end-to-end delivery of assigned modules including design, development, testing support, and deployment readiness.
• Conduct code reviews ensuring adherence to coding standards, security guidelines, and engineering best practices.

• Troubleshoot production issues and performance bottlenecks by performing detailed root cause analysis and implementing sustainable fixes.
• Mentor junior developers on coding standards, debugging techniques, and modern Java development practices.
• Demonstrates strong technical ownership in delivering complex development activities with high-quality execution.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders for seamless delivery.
• Drives engineering excellence through code reviews, automation, performance optimization, and defect prevention.
