Job summary

Iris Software, Inc. is seeking a senior Java backend developer to join our Noida/Gurugram/Pune teams. You will design and implement scalable enterprise applications using Java 17+, Spring Boot, and a microservices architecture.

Collaboration with cross-functional teams, code reviews, and mentoring will be key parts of the role. We expect 6-7 years of experience in backend development, deep knowledge of REST APIs, messaging with Kafka, and strong SQL skills.

Qualifications

• 6-7 years of backend Java development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Spring Boot and microservices.
• Experience with JPA, Kafka, and MS SQL.
• Proficient in object-oriented programming concepts.
• Experience designing scalable enterprise applications.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable enterprise applications using Core Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
• Define API contracts, service boundaries, and integration strategies for distributed systems.
• Develop reusable backend components following clean architecture and secure coding practices.
• Optimize application performance through caching, asynchronous processing, database tuning, and JVM optimization.
• Own end-to-end delivery of assigned modules including design, development, testing support, and deployment readiness.
• Conduct code reviews ensuring adherence to coding standards, security guidelines, and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Design event-driven architectures and asynchronous communication to improve scalability and resilience.
• Drive improvements in CI/CD pipelines, logging, monitoring, and deployment automation.
• Troubleshoot production issues and performance bottlenecks with root cause analysis and fixes.
• Mentor junior developers on coding standards and modern Java practices.
• Communicate risks, dependencies, and delivery progress to stakeholders.

Job Description

Experience: 6-7 Years

Mandatory Skills:

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop scalable enterprise applications using Core Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
• Define API contracts, service boundaries, and integration strategies for distributed and enterprise-grade systems.
• Develop reusable backend components and enterprise services following clean architecture and secure coding practices.
• Optimize application performance through caching, asynchronous processing, database tuning, and JVM optimization.

• Mentor junior developers on coding standards, debugging techniques, and engineering best practices.
