Persistent Systems is seeking a Java Kafka expert to design, develop, and support scalable enterprise applications from Pune. With 8–10 years of hands-on experience in Core Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and Kafka, you will deliver high-performance solutions and robust REST APIs.

You will work with engineering teams, architects, and stakeholders to ensure scalability, security, and maintainability across environments, while supporting CI/CD, monitoring, and production‑grade operations.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in Core Java, Java 8+ and backend development.
• Expertise in Spring Boot, microservices, and REST APIs.
• Experience with Apache Kafka including producers/consumers and topics.
• Experience with SQL databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL or similar).
• Familiarity with build tools (Maven/Gradle), Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot production issues and optimize performance.
• Good communication and ability to work with distributed teams.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Java Kafka professional with 8-10 years of experience to design, develop, and support scalable enterprise applications. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, Kafka-based event-driven architecture, REST APIs, and production-grade application development. The candidate will work closely with engineering teams, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-performance solutions.

What You'll Do:

• Develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture
• Design and implement Kafka-based event-driven solutions for high-volume, distributed systems
• Build and consume RESTful APIs and integrate backend services with upstream and downstream systems
• Work on Kafka producers, consumers, topics, partitions, offsets, consumer groups, and message processing flows
• Participate in application design, code reviews, debugging, performance tuning, and production support activities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Ensure application scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability across environments

Expertise You'll Bring:

• Strong hands-on experience in Core Java, Java 8+, Spring Boot, and backend application development
• Good experience with Apache Kafka including producers, consumers, topics, partitions, offsets, and consumer groups
• Experience in microservices architecture, REST APIs, distributed systems, and asynchronous messaging
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, data structures, and coding best practices
• Hands-on experience with SQL databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar
• Experience with build tools and frameworks such as Maven, Gradle, JUnit, Mockito, Git, and CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of containerization and cloud platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, or GCP is preferred
• Ability to troubleshoot production issues, analyze logs, tune performance, and resolve defects effectively
• Good communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaborate with distributed teams
