Persistent Systems Limited is seeking a senior Java Kafka Architect in Pune to lead architecture, design, and delivery of scalable enterprise applications. You will drive event-driven patterns using Kafka and Camel, guide REST API design, and mentor teams to ensure performance and reliability.

The role requires strong ownership of architecture, collaboration with stakeholders, and hands-on expertise in cloud-native deployments and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Java Kafka Architect with 10?12 years of experience to lead the design and delivery of scalable, event-driven enterprise applications. The role requires strong architectural expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, Apache Kafka, Apache Camel, REST APIs, distributed systems, and cloud-native application design. The candidate will work closely with engineering teams, business stakeholders, and solution architects to define technical strategy, drive design decisions, and ensure reliable, high-performance delivery.

What You'll Do:

• Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, Kafka, and Apache Camel
• Design scalable event-driven architectures using Kafka producers, consumers, topics, partitions, offsets, consumer groups, and streaming patterns
• Define integration architecture using Apache Camel, REST APIs, messaging frameworks, and enterprise integration patterns
• Provide technical leadership to development teams and guide solution design, code quality, performance, scalability, and maintainability
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions
• Review architecture, design documents, code, and deployment approaches to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and best practices
• Drive performance tuning, troubleshooting, resiliency planning, observability, and production stability for high-volume distributed systems
• Support CI/CD, DevOps practices, cloud deployment, monitoring, and automation across development and production environments
• Mentor team members on architecture principles, clean coding, design patterns, reusable components, and agile engineering practices

Expertise You'll Bring:

• Strong expertise in Java, Java 8+, Spring Boot, microservices architecture, and enterprise application design
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka including producers, consumers, topics, partitions, offsets, consumer groups, schema management, and event-driven design
• Strong working experience with Apache Camel and enterprise integration patterns for routing, transformation, orchestration, and system integration
• Experience in designing REST APIs, asynchronous messaging frameworks, distributed systems, and scalable backend services
• Good understanding of architecture principles, design patterns, domain-driven design, data structures, and coding best practices
• Hands-on experience with SQL/NoSQL databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or similar
• Experience with Maven, Gradle, JUnit, Mockito, Git, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Ability to analyze complex technical issues, tune application performance, define best practices, and guide teams on production-grade implementation
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills with the ability to work with distributed teams
