Job summary

Persistent Systems Limited in Pune seeks a Senior Architect Java (with AI/GenAI) with 8-12 years of experience to lead enterprise-scale architecture. You will design scalable, cloud-native distributed systems using Java, Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture, and modern cloud technologies.

You will drive architecture governance, evaluate AI adoption, and collaborate with product and delivery teams to ensure high-quality enterprise solutions.

Qualifications

• 8-12 years of software engineering experience with at least 4+ years in Architecture or Technical Leadership roles.
• Deep expertise in Java 11/17+, multithreading, concurrency, collections, and functional programming.
• Extensive experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Integration, and Spring Batch.
• Strong knowledge of Microservices Architecture, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and Clean Architecture.
• Proven experience designing distributed, high-performance enterprise systems.
• Expertise in Kafka, IBM MQ, ActiveMQ, JMS, Event Hubs, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with API design and management using REST, gRPC, GraphQL, and OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Cloud architecture experience on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform; Docker & Kubernetes mastery.
• Hands-on experience with AI/LLM integration, RAG, and AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end solution and application architecture for large-scale enterprise platforms.

• Drive adoption of Generative AI technologies across the software engineering lifecycle.
• Utilize tools such as GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex, Claude Code, and enterprise AI accelerators to improve delivery efficiency.
• Architect and integrate AI/LLM-powered capabilities into enterprise applications.
• Design Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions and AI-enabled knowledge retrieval systems.
• Define AI adoption strategies for code generation, test automation, documentation, and application modernization.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and establish best practices for enterprise use.
• Design cloud-native architectures on AWS, Azure, and GCP platforms.
• Lead containerization and orchestration strategies using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
