Job summary

SAS invites experienced Java developers to join the SAS9 team based at the Pune R&D Centre. You will help develop and maintain SAS 9 platform based solutions, plan and design work, and take responsibility for large parts of the application alongside a friendly, experienced team.

The role requires 8–10 years of relevant experience, strong Java (Core Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate), REST, SQL, and a solid grasp of microservices, OOP, and Agile practices.

Qualifications

• Strong Java programming and OOP concepts with SOLID design.
• Experience with REST APIs, JSON/XML, and microservices.

About The Job

The role is based in the Pune R&D Centre, at SAS R&D Pune facility. For this role, you will join the SAS9 team. We are looking for a Java developer to help develop and maintain the SAS 9 platform-based solutions. You will help with plan and design work and take responsibility for large parts of the application. Furthermore, you will be joining a friendly team with a broad range of experience, to develop and maintain SAS 9 Solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

• Your primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain the SAS Platform products code base, facilitate the selection of correct technical choices via collaboration and implement for scale, performance and usability configuration and Download tools.
• You will be mentoring associate developers to ensure the seamless development of SAS9 platform solutions.
• You would be expected to contribute to designs for new tools, systems, and frameworks.
• Build a web applications used to design streaming data orchestration flows for SAS ARD solutions.
• You will be involved in troubleshooting issues, bug fixing and providing support to ensure a smooth user experience.
• Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization’s secure software development goals.
• Contribute to the design, development, unit testing, integration testing, and documentation of product features.
• Participate in defining user stories and acceptance criteria for product features.
• Review business and solution requirements/design documents for accuracy.

Requirement

• Good understanding of OOPs, SOLID principles and microservice design pattern.
• Excellent programming skills with Core Java, AWT and Swing, Spring boot Hibernate, SQL
• Understanding XML, JSON, and REST.
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
• Knowledge of software development processes and Quality Standards.
• Familiar with Agile methodology and with tools such as Jira, Confluence.
• Working knowledge of tools like Git, Gerrit
• Comfortable working on Windows and Linux operating systems
• Good debugging skills, logical problem-solving capability, quick and self-learner to adopt and use new technologies.
• Ability to use Test Driven and CI/CD Development methodologies (Unit test and Integration Testing)
• Understanding and experience with Agile development practices, including daily scrums, iteration planning, retrospectives, and test-driven development.
• Experience with multi-tier full stack web application and thick client application development would be an added advantage. Working knowledge of Web Application Servers or HTML front-end development, Familiarity with Bootstrap, CSS and JavaScript.
• Demonstrated experience with disciplined unit, regression, and integration testing

Mandatory Technical Skills

• Good exposure to design and development of mid-tier services, REST APIs, Java Script. Good design and programming skills in Java using IDE. Sound OOPS/OOAD concepts, knowledge of SQL concepts and exposure to implementing design patterns.
• Good understanding of OOPs, SOLID principles and Microservice design patterns.
• Excellent programming skills with Core Java, AWT, Swing, Spring boot Hibernate
• Understanding XML, JSON, and REST.
• Good exposure to design and development of mid-tier services, REST APIs, Java Script framework. Good design and programming skills in Java using IDE. Sound OOPS/OOAD concepts, knowledge of SQL concepts and exposure to implementing design patterns.
• Proficiency in JAVA, Spring, Design patterns, Gradle, Jenkins, Java Script, Unix/LAX
• Ability to evaluate complex information, develop clear recommendations, and effectively present findings while seeking feedback.
