Full Stack Developer BA4 – Barclays

Purpose of the role: Design, develop, and improve software using industry‑aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools to provide business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Accountabilities:

• Develop and deliver high‑quality software solutions.
• Ensure code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with product managers, designers, and engineers to define requirements and solution strategies.
• Participate in code reviews and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends, contribute to technology communities, and foster technical excellence.
• Apply secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities and protect sensitive data.
• Implement effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

Technical Qualifications:

• Java 17/21, Spring MVC / Spring Boot / Spring Security.
• React and JavaScript.
• Design and implementation of RESTful services.
• Build tools such as Maven or Gradle.
• Unit testing (JUnit/Mockito), mutation testing (Pi Test/Stryker), component testing (Karate Wiremock / React Test Library).
• Back‑end development with Java/Spring Boot.
• Relational databases: SQL Server, Oracle.
• Observability tools (Elastic/Kibana) for debugging.
• Cloud infrastructure: AWS CloudFormation, Terraform; services including API Gateway, Lambda, ECS, ELB, EC2, MSK, RDS (Oracle preferred).
• Experience with AWS, OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes, and CICD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins).
• Agile/Scrum methodology experience.
• Preferred skills: GitLab/BitBucket, DevOps, Docker/K8s/OpenShift, certifications in relevant technologies.
