Job summary

The TJX Companies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineer for POS & Payments in India. The role focuses on delivering front-of-store solutions, designing and implementing business capabilities, and guiding Epics with DevSecOps practices.

You will work in a collaborative, global IT environment with opportunities to mentor peers and contribute to high-quality, secure software for retail operations in APAC. Strong Java/J2EE, SQL, and agile experience are required.

Qualifications

• 5 years of hands-on engineering experience in design and development of Java applications for POS/payments
• Java/J2EE (11 or more)
• Knowledge of SQL databases
• Experience with Jira, Confluence and Git
• Experience in DevSecOps and AGILE environments
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Engineering training/experience

What you'll do

The Global Solution Delivery Point of Sales and Payments Team is responsible for managing Front of Stores solutions within TJX IT. The organization delivers capabilities to the stores that enrich the Customer and Associate experience and provide business value. We seek a Senior Engineer to help design and implement these business capabilities within the Global Front of Stores Point of Sales Solution. Engineers at this level can lead & deliver on assigned Epics in their supported area. They use DevSecOps best practices to ship high-quality code and continue to push their knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop new features and services that are low-medium level of complexity working with the product/platform/infrastructure/security team

• Design, code, deploy & support working software/technology component, working collaboratively with architects and other engineers.

• Responsible for code analysis, debugging, review and execution of unit/integration tests. Create test automation scripts.

• Responsible for delivering clean, secure, performant code / technology components that meets all the non-functional requirements.

• Sets up application jobs, creates test data, and supports deployment, all at a medium to high level of complexity.

• Actively participates in Development process definitions, best practices and standards.

• Mentor other engineers on the team.

Skill/Knowledge

• 5 years of hands on engineering experience in design, development of Java applications using object-oriented principles, data structures, design patterns and algorithms in retail applications for Point of Sale and/or Payments

• Java/J2EE (11 or more)

• Knowledge of SQL databases
