We are a Fortune 100 off-price retail company. TJX India operates out of Hyderabad as part of the global technology organization delivering solutions across our retail brands. We’re looking for a Staff Engineer to join our Global Point of Sale (POS) and Payments solution delivery organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical discussions to design approaches for solving business problems.
• Design, code, deploy and support working software/technology components.
• Collaborate with architects and other engineers to ensure systems are well designed and production ready.
• Act as a lead on a scrum team for medium initiatives, prioritizing tasks and resolving issues.
• Coach and guide engineering talent.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to drive technical solutions that meet business needs.
• Ensure best engineering practices for operational excellence.
• Contribute to high‑level architecture to drive engineering & operational excellence.
• Maintain NFRs, SOX/PCI requirements and security best practices.

Skills / Knowledge

• 5‑8 years of hands‑on engineering experience in Java, J2EE, SQL databases.
• Deep expertise in Java/J2EE, SQL databases.
• Hands‑on Oracle Retail Xstore POS development, Oracle databases, Oracle EFTLink.
• Preferred experience with Spring, receipt printers, pin pads, RTLog generator, Xenvironment, payment integrations (Verifone, Adyen, etc.).
• Experience with global or multi‑regional technology deployments.
• Exposure to test automation frameworks and performance tuning.
• Application integration experience (REST, SOAP, Data Exchange, etc.).
• Leadership in technical design and solution delivery.
• Strong critical thinking, problem‑solving, ownership mindset.
• Proficiency with Git, Jira, Confluence.
• DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience implementing security recommendations.
• Mentoring and coaching engineers.
• Lean agile mindset and continuous improvement.
• Experience with software development lifecycle in an AGILE environment.
