Job summary

SAS Pune R&D Centre seeks a Java developer to design, implement and maintain the SAS9 mid-tier platform and services. You will contribute to planning, design and ownership of large parts of the application, joining a friendly team with broad experience to deliver SAS 9.4 solutions.

Responsibilities include fixing security and customer issues, collaborating with technical support, and ensuring secure development practices with unit, integration and performance tests.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of strong development experience.
• Excellent programming skills with Java, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Hibernate.
• Understanding of Groovy is an added advantage.
• Expertise in database-centric applications and SQL with Postgres, Oracle.
• Understanding of OOPs, Design Patterns, SOLID principles.
• Experience with build tools Ant, Maven.
• Knowledge of security concepts and tools such as Snyk, Black Duck.
• Familiarity with Enterprise Security applications (IVIA/WebSeal, Siteminder, IWA).
• Experience with fast-paced Agile software development methodologies.
• Good debugging and problem-solving skills; ability to learn quickly.
• Experience with unit, regression, and integration testing.
• Aptitude to work with large Legacy code bases.
• Exposure to AI Dev tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude code).

About the job

The role is based in the Pune R&D Centre, at SAS R&D Pune facility. For this role, you will join the SAS9 team. We are looking for a Java developer to develop and maintain the SAS9 middle tier platform and services. You will help with plan and design work and take responsibility for large parts of the application. Furthermore, you will be joining a friendly team with a broad range of experience, to develop and maintain SAS 9.4 Solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

• Enhance, maintain, fix customer and security issues with multiple products and services under SAS 9 foundation.
• Work with customers and technical support for resolution of issues related to functionality, security and performance.
• Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization’s secure software development goals.
• Perform the unit testing, integration testing, and manual/automated tests functional/performance testing.

Requirement

• 6+ years’ of strong development experience.
• Excellent programming skills with Java, Spring MVC, Spring boot, Hibernate.
• Understanding of Groovy is an added advantage.
• Expertise in working on Database centric applications and knowledge of SQL with Postgres, Oracle

• Good debugging skills, logical problem-solving capability, quick and self-learner to adopt and use new technologies.
• Experience with unit, regression, and integration testing
• Aptitude to work with large Legacy code bases
• Use of AI Dev tool (GitHub Copilot , Cursor, Claude code etc)

Mandatory Technical Skills

• 6+ years of relevant experience
• Good exposure to design and development of mid-tier services, REST APIs, Java ecosystem.
• Knowledge of OOPs, Design Patterns, SOLID principles.
• Excellent programming skills with Java, Spring MVC, Spring boot, Hibernate.
• Expertise in working on Database centric applications and knowledge of SQL with Postgres, Oracle
• Demonstrated experience with unit, regression, and integration testing with large software portfolio
