Job summary

DHL IT Services in India seeks a Senior Java Developer to shape the digital backbone of DHL’s logistics platform. You will work in a global, agile team delivering back-end services with Java, Spring/Quarkus, Jakarta EE and Oracle SQL.

You will own features end-to-end, collaborate across regions, and uphold quality, security and DevOps rigor while driving production stability and performance.

Qualifications

• More than 5 years of hands-on software development experience.
• Strong Java, Spring or Quarkus, and Jakarta EE knowledge.
• Good Oracle DB, SQL, REST APIs, and distributed backend systems.
• CI/CD, GitHub Actions, automated testing and code reviews.
• Containerization and Kubernetes in modern apps.
• Experience with IBM MQ and monitoring tools (ELK or Splunk).
• Excellent English in a multinational environment.

Responsibilities

• Own features end-to-end from design to production support.

As a Senior Java Developer, you must have extensive Java programming expertise and strong knowledge of the Spring or Quarkus framework.

As a technology enthusiast, you have a solid understanding of Vaadin and Jakarta EE and are proficient in Oracle Database (SQL). You work independently, prioritize effectively, and stay organized under time and workload pressure. In our multinational environment, cross-region collaboration with teams around the globe is part of everyday work, making advanced spoken and written English essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take end-to-end responsibility for features from requirement refinement and technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Translate customer and business requirements into robust, maintainable technical solutions.
• Implement and enhance backend components and processes within the Packstation and Poststation environment.
• Ensure timely delivery of software packages while maintaining high standards for quality, stability, security, and maintainability.
• Support troubleshooting, debugging, and stabilization of production systems.
• Take ownership of DevOps incidents, resolve production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive sustainable operational improvements.
• Contribute to automated testing, code reviews, and engineering best practices to continuously improve software quality.
• Share knowledge with team members and support the technical growth of the development team.

Professional Requirements:

• More than 5 years of hands‑on experience in software development, preferably in backend or enterprise application environments
• Strong practical experience with Java, Spring or Quarkus, and Jakarta EE
• Good knowledge of Oracle Database, SQL, REST APIs, and distributed backend systems
• Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, automated testing, and code review practices
• Hands‑on knowledge of containerization technologies and Kubernetes in modern application environments
• Familiarity with messaging technologies such as IBM MQ
• Proven ability to support production systems, handle incidents, troubleshoot issues, and perform root‑cause analysis in a DevOps environment
• Solid working knowledge of monitoring and log analysis tools such as ELK or Splunk
• Good understanding of software quality, maintainability, performance, and secure coding principles
• Experience working in international teams, preferably in collaboration with Germany
