Job summary

DHL IT Services in India is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (m/f/d) with strong SAP ABAP development skills in FI/CO and SD/MM. You will design and implement ABAP solutions, maintain interfaces like SFTP and IDoc/ALE, and develop SAP forms such as SAPScript and Smart Forms.

You will work in a DevOps-oriented team, focusing on end-to-end SAP processes, including accounting, receivables, bank reconciliation, and reporting, while ensuring quality and customer-centric services.

Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification.
• 8–10 years of relevant professional experience in a comparable SAP environment.
• Strong hands-on experience in SAP FI, including GL, AR, AP and AA, as well as CO, SD and MM.
• Advanced expertise in SAP ABAP development and solid experience in SAP Customizing.
• In-depth understanding of end-to-end business processes in SAP, particularly accounting, receivables management, bank statement processing, reporting and balance sheets.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills combined with a strong customer-oriented mindset.
• Very good technical understanding of complex, integrated system landscapes.
• Experience working in agile environments and the ability to integrate effectively into a DevOps-oriented team.
• Strong communication skills in English, written and verbal; German would be an advantage

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement SAP ABAP solutions in the FI/CO environment.
• Support complex integrated SAP system landscapes and maintain interfaces like SFTP and IDoc/ALE.
• Develop and maintain SAP forms using SAPScript and Smart Forms.
• Contribute to continuous enhancements within an SAP R/3 FI landscape.
• Perform independent root-cause analysis and resolution as part of 3rd level support.
• Analyze ABAP programs, Customizing settings and business data structures.
• Ensure stable, reliable, and customer-oriented solutions for finance processes.
• Understand end-to-end SAP business processes including accounting and reporting.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design, develop and implement SAP ABAP solutions in the FI/CO environment, while supporting complex integrated SAP system landscapes. You will adapt and maintain interfaces such as SFTP and IDoc/ALE in close collaboration with internal and external integration partners. You will also develop and maintain SAP forms using SAPScript and Smart Forms, and contribute to continuous enhancements within an SAP R/3 FI landscape. For complex incidents and technical challenges, you are our expert. You will perform independent root-cause analysis and resolution as part of 3rd level support, analyze ABAP programs, Customizing settings and business-relevant data structures, and help ensure stable, reliable and customer-oriented solutions for business-critical finance processes. Last but not least, your understanding of end-to-end SAP business processes — especially accounting, receivables management, bank statement processing, reporting and balance sheets — will help us continuously improve our applications and services in a DevOps-oriented environment.

As a Senior Software Engineer, having advanced SAP ABAP development experience is a huge plus. Very good knowledge of SAP FI, CO, SD and MM will also be an integral part of this role. You are a technology aficionado; therefore, you have a good understanding of SAP Customizing, integrated SAP landscapes, interfaces such as SFTP and IDoc/ALE, and SAP forms such as SAPScript and Smart Forms. You are able to work independently, prioritize and organise your tasks under time and workload pressure. Working in a multinational environment, you can expect cross-region collaboration with teams around the globe; thus, being advanced in spoken and written English will certainly be useful. German language skills would be a great advantage.
