Job summary

Goodfit is seeking an experienced Java backend engineer to design and implement scalable systems in Bengaluru. You will work on Java 17+ applications, Spring-based services, and microservices with REST APIs, integrating MQ/Kafka messaging and optimizing data-heavy workloads.

The role requires strong SQL/ORM skills, TDD practice, and familiarity with CI/CD, security, and resiliency. Adaptability to evolving requirements and new technologies is essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability using Java.
• Proficiency in Java 17+ and Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Security.
• Experience with RESTful services and a microservices architecture.
• Experience with MQ/Kafka for messaging and streaming.
• Experience building data-intensive systems.
• Strong SQL and ORM knowledge.
• Experience with Test Driven Development.
• Experience with Git.
• Perfomance tuning and system optimization.
• Experience with CI/CD, resiliency, and security.
• Able to adapt to changing project requirements and technologies.
• Desirable: FpML knowledge, Docker and Kubernetes, Python, Spark or PySpark.

Essential Skills

• Experience with messaging and streaming platforms using MQ/Kafka

• Strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL language and ORM tools

• Experience in working with GIT source control tool
• Exposure to performance tuning and system optimization
• Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
• Adaptability to changing project requirements and technologies

Desirable skills

• Experience with the finance domain and knowledge of FpML
• Exposure to containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes
