Job summary

Senior Java Developer

Experience: 7+ Years

Key Responsibilities

Application Development

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain Java/Spring Boot-based applications and microservices.
• Build scalable, secure, and high-performance REST APIs and backend services.
• Develop event-driven solutions and integrate services using messaging platforms.
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and secure development principles.

Platform & Quality

• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code with adequate unit and integration test coverage.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Support application security, compliance, system reliability, and operational excellence.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation initiatives.

Collaboration & Delivery

• Work closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver business requirements.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, estimation, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, API specifications, and operational runbooks.
• Mentor junior developers and support knowledge-sharing initiatives within the team.

Required Skills & Experience

Backend

• Strong experience in Java 11+, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Security.
• Hands-on experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Strong understanding of API security, versioning, pagination, error handling, and idempotency.
• Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
• Good knowledge of Hibernate/JPA and SQL query optimization.
• Experience with caching technologies like Redis.
• Experience with messaging/event-streaming platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices, OAuth2, and JWT authentication mechanisms.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in Fintech, Banking, NBFC, Payments, or Financial Services domain.
• Knowledge of high-volume transaction processing systems and distributed architectures.
• Understanding of RBI regulations, compliance, audit trails, and data security requirements.
• Experience in JVM performance tuning, database indexing, and query optimization.
• Familiarity with API Gateways, service mesh, and event-driven architectures.
• Understanding of design patterns, microservices best practices, and distributed transaction handling.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
