Java BAMOE Workflow Lead
Job Description
Purpose of the role: To design, develop and improve software, utilizing various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
Accountabilities
- Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions using industry‑aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
- Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
- Cross‑functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
- Collaboration with peers, participation in code reviews, and promotion of a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Staying informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contributing to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
- Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
- Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

Responsibilities
- Support the organization in achieving its strategic objectives by identifying business requirements and solutions that address business problems and opportunities.
- Collaborate with architects and product teams to define scalable system architecture and API design.
- Design and develop RESTful APIs and microservices using Java (Spring Boot).
- Build and manage workflow‑driven applications using BAMOE (BPMN, DMN, rules, decision services) and BPMN‑based engines (BAMOE/jBPM).
- Integrate workflow services with backend systems using event‑driven architecture (Kafka, REST APIs).
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for smooth deployment.
- Participate in code reviews, testing strategy, and production issue resolution.
- Enable monitoring, logging, and observability of applications.
- Ensure security, performance, and reliability of APIs and workflow services.
Qualifications
- Strong hands‑on experience with Java and workflow engines like BAMOE.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices using Java (Spring Boot).
- Experience with BPMN‑based engines such as BAMOE/jBPM, and familiarity with BPMN2.0 for designing workflows.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, familiarity with OpenShift (ApaaS).
- Experience integrating with event‑driven architecture, including Kafka and REST APIs.
- Understanding of API Gateway patterns and implementations.
- Knowledge of performance tuning, observability tools such as ELK, Splunk, AppDynamics.
- Experience with automated testing (Jest, Appium/Detox), unit and integration testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito).
- Familiarity with testing tools such as Cucumber, Insomnia or Postman.
- Experience with message brokers (Kafka or other) for event‑driven communication.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and modular design principles.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
- A self‑starter with good communication skills.
