Job summary

UST in Bengaluru is seeking a highly experienced QA Automation Engineer with strong expertise in both manual testing and Selenium automation using Java. You will design end-to-end test strategies and build robust automation frameworks.

The ideal candidate has 8–12 years of QA experience, deep knowledge of Java, TestNG/JUnit, and CI/CD pipelines, and will mentor others while ensuring quality across complex enterprise applications.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of QA experience with strong manual and automation testing.
• Strong hands-on experience in Selenium WebDriver with Java.
• Experience in designing and maintaining automation frameworks such as POM, Hybrid, or Data-Driven.

• Analyze requirements and design comprehensive test strategies and plans.
• Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases.
• Build, enhance, and maintain Selenium-based automation frameworks in Java.
• Perform Functional, Integration, System, Regression, and End-to-End testing.
• Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to ensure quality deliverables.
• Log, track, and verify defects using defect management tools.
• Develop reusable automation scripts and improve test coverage.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and planning.
• Generate test execution reports and communicate status to stakeholders.
• Mentor junior QA members and promote best practices.

Job Description

We are looking for a highly experienced QA Automation Engineer with strong expertise in both Manual Testing and Selenium Automation using Java. The ideal candidate should have experience in designing automation frameworks, executing end-to-end testing, and ensuring software quality across complex enterprise applications. Experience in the Semiconductor domain is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business and functional requirements and create comprehensive test strategies and test plans.
• Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases.
• Build, enhance, and maintain Selenium-based automation frameworks using Java.
• Perform Functional, Integration, System, Regression, Smoke, Sanity, and End-to-End testing.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure quality deliverables.
• Identify, log, track, and verify defects using defect management tools.
• Develop reusable automation scripts and improve test coverage.
• Participate in Sprint planning, grooming, reviews, and retrospective meetings.
• Generate test execution reports and communicate testing status to stakeholders.
• Mentor junior team members and drive QA best practices.

Required Skills

• 8-12 years of overall QA experience with strong Manual and Automation testing expertise.
• Strong hands-on experience in Selenium WebDriver with Java.
• Good experience in TestNG/JUnit frameworks.
• Experience in designing and maintaining automation frameworks such as POM, Hybrid, or Data-Driven frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of Core Java concepts including Collections, Exception Handling, OOPs, Multithreading basics, and File Handling.
• Experience with Maven/Gradle build tools.
• Experience with API testing using Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of STLC, SDLC, and Defect Life Cycle.
• Hands-on experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Knowledge of Git version control and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience using AI-powered tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar platforms to improve testing productivity, automation development, and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the Semiconductor domain.
• Exposure to enterprise applications and complex business workflows.
• Experience with Jenkins or other CI/CD tools.
• Knowledge of SQL and database testing.
• Experience leading QA activities and mentoring automation teams.

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Information Technology, or a related field.
