1. Position Overview

We are looking for a dynamic, proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate Japanese Language Teacher with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering Japanese language training to students at schools, colleges, and universities. The role will also involve student counselling and mentoring, progress tracking, batch management, preparation of teaching materials, student administration, and coordination with various stakeholders.

The ideal candidate should have a strong command of Japanese and English, excellent teaching and presentation skills, and a strong commitment to student development and professional work standards.

2. Key Qualifications

Degree/Diploma in Japanese Language or completion of a Japanese Teacher Training Course from a recognized institution.

Must have passed the Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test.

Minimum JLPT N3 qualification or NAT-Test Level 3/3Q.

Candidates with JLPT N2 may be eligible for a higher and negotiable salary.

Minimum 1 year of relevant Japanese language teaching experience.

Experience as a Japanese language translator or interpreter will be an added advantage.

Excellent command of spoken and written Japanese and English.

Good computer skills, including:

Willingness to travel regularly to schools, colleges, and universities for teaching assignments.

3. Key Responsibilities
A. Teaching & Training
  • Conduct Japanese language classes effectively and professionally.

B. Student Counselling & Mentoring
  • Regularly communicate with students, teachers, and other stakeholders regarding student progress.
  • Provide counselling, guidance, and mentorship to students at schools, colleges, and universities.
  • Support students in achieving their academic and Japanese language learning goals.
  • Understand student concerns and assist with conflict resolution whenever required.
  • Take responsibility for batch formation, batch freezing, and other batch related activities.
C. Student Records & Administration
  • Maintain accurate and up to date student records, including:
  • Attendance
  • Learning progress
  • Results
  • Certification
  • Other relevant academic information
  • Maintain proper documentation related to classes and student performance.
  • Ensure the accuracy, security, and confidentiality of student and organizational information.
  • Complete administrative and documentation related tasks within specified deadlines.
