Jaljeevika runs Fieldflow and several other digital platforms. We need someone to build them, keep them working, and teach people to use them.
The work splits three ways: writing and fixing code, supporting users day to day, and running training. The users are programme staff, field teams and partner organisations, and their comfort with technology varies widely. So the job suits someone who can turn what a field worker describes into working software, then explain that software to people with very different levels of technical skill.
Position Details
- Location: Pune, Maharashtra (with travel to field locations)
- Openings: 1
- Type: Contract
- Experience: 2 to 5 years
Building and maintaining the platforms
- Develop, customise, test and maintain features for Fieldflow and the other platforms.
- Talk to programme and field teams about what they need, and turn that into technical requirements.
- Build and maintain applications, digital forms, dashboards, reports and integrations.
- Fix bugs, slow performance, and parts of the interface that confuse users.
- Work with outside developers and technology vendors through development, testing, deployment and maintenance.
- Keep the source code, the technical documentation and a record of platform updates in order.
Training and adoption
- Find out which digital skills staff, field teams and partners are missing.
- Run training on Fieldflow and the other platforms, in a classroom, online and in the field.
- Write user manuals, quick-reference guides and video tutorials in plain language.
- Sit with users who have limited digital literacy and walk them through the tools by hand.
- Train internal trainers and platform champions, so support does not depend on one person.
- Collect feedback, and check whether the training actually improves how people use the platform and the quality of the data they enter.
Support and data
- Handle daily requests about platform access, user accounts, mobile apps and ordinary IT problems.
- Troubleshoot devices, connectivity, data entry, synchronisation and reporting.
- Help with data validation, cleaning, migration and routine reports.
